Tim from ProjectGamers writes: "A video game system's year is judged by two things: console sales, and game releases. In order to have a successful year, a system must have prodcution from both categories. While it certainly looks like Sony's PS3 sales are spiking, much thanks to the price cut and release of the PS3 'Slim', how did the games fare? Which games have stolen or will steal the spotlight for the 2009 year? While there certainly is more of the year to come, we are gonna just go ahead and make a top 10 games list for 2009 for the PS3 right now; I mean, we pretty much know which of the games yet to be released this year will dominate our lives. So here is a top 10 list of games that have already come out, and some that have yet to come out, and how they rank against each other. When its all said and done, I think we are going to have a pretty good lineup:..."
The PlayStation 3 may not have been the strongest generation for Sony, but there were still some diamonds in the rough that deserve a revisit as PS5 remasters.
Even if they could just remaster and put on PSVR2, some would still look great as VR titles and could do a whole lot to bolster the headset w these exclusives! I'd imagine the investment of reworking these titles into VR would be way less than building new games from the ground up, and they could be amazing experiences, and VR often makes flat games feel fresh again. The Resistance and Killzone games are particularly what I want to see!!
The time is perfect for a resistance fall of man game campaign coop multiplayer
Resistance was ok but Warhawk and Starhawk was better and kept me coming back for almost a decade of fun and petty revenge on the loud mouth unskilled players 🤣
Edit I loved capture the flag dropping the pot on the flag carrier was extremely satisfying as well as transforming your plane in bot form and stumping them to death 😱
Resident Evil 5 launched 15 years ago today - and it continues to stand as a stepping stone from the good to the bad.
One of my favourites because of the co-op. Then Resi 6 arrived and the series nosedived further.
I enjoyed the game co-oping with a friend I know the game in solo the AI can be an idiot but RE5 is way better then RE6. I played RE6 with a friend if it wasn't cheap when I got I would have avoided RE6.
5 was excellent, still play Mercs with my brother.
I would love a fully remastered RE:5, with some added, reworked content. The DLC for 5 was also excellent.
6 was awful.
I never understood why the game was misunderstood. It was a fantastic game at launch and is still fun today to play. It’s as action packed as Resident Evil 4 was, yet that’s regarded a masterpiece 🤷♂️
it was "misunderstood" because they introduced co-op into the franchise at a time when people loved to have fake rage about co-op. like, you could play the game as a solo experience, but people chose to have their bandwagon rage because it was cool at the time lol
The inFamous games are an important part of PlayStation history, but the series is in limbo and playing older entries isn't exactly easy.
Would like remasters of 1 and 2. I enjoyed them much more than Second Son.
1 & 2 had more of an emphasis on climbing and the traversal requires a bit more effort in a good way. It was rewarding. Second Son made climbing mostly obsolete so they put little effort into it. The traversal was just great in inFamous 1 & 2. There's a reason Sunset Overdrive copied and improved upon the induction grind mechanic.
Reminds me of how I felt about the decline of parkour and the well designed tombs (basically Prince Of Persia levels) that we saw in the Assassin's Creed games.
The story and atmosphere were also much better in 1 & 2.
Electricity is just a brilliant superpower for an open world city. It perfectly fits just like webslinging does in New York and it has many applications.
Wouldn't the onus be on the consumers? If they bought the Infamous games, then we'd have more games from that series.
I would love to see a new game but a feel that would get a response similar to Saints Row.
Loved all 3 of them. I couldn't get on with the vampire spin off though. Wish they didn't move away from cole but I didn't mind the other character.
Uncharted 2 No. 1!!
*Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, *Killzone 2, *Infamous, *Fat Princess, *Gran Turismo 5, *Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time, *Demon's Souls, *Final Fantasy XIII, *LittleBigPlanet GOTY Edition, *Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2. (Of course, with room for debate. My point was to put only titles available on the *PS3 in 2009) NOTE: * Denotes Exclusivity in 2009.
gimmie...
Brutal legend
Ratchet and Clank
Uncharted
Demon Souls
... and I'll be happy :)
Id buy Uncharted 2 over MW2, any day.
Only wish Sega would get their act together so i could add Yakuza3 to the list.
lol, Uncharted should be first. I don't think one should put a game at the top because its gonna sell well. it should be a game that in quality is great and from what we have seen not only the single player but the multi-player of Uncharted 2 is the best. I love MW and Im getting MW2 but a game shouldn't be there because its gonna sell.
This is the way i would put it.
1 - Uncharted 2 (21/20 from PSM3 lol)
2 - Gran Turismo 5
3 - Killzone 2
4 - Modern Warfare 2
5 - Assassin’s Creed 2
6 - inFAMOUS
7 - Demon's Souls
8 - Resident Evil 5
9 - Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time
10 - Batman: Arkham Asylum
(Allot of 2's)
Thats how I would put it. If i could only get 3 games this year it would be the first 3 and below them would be just for later games.
Well they are mostly exclusives but that doesn't mean im being a fanboy, i ain't a fanboy or whatever, im just stating of what I think is best. You know where the Disagree button is hit it 360 times
