Halfbrick Studios has recently released their fantastic looking asteroids-style multiplayer racer, Halfbrick Rocket Racing, on Xbox Live Indie Games. The best part? This game is XBLA/PSN worthy.
GFB writes: "Halfbrick released its fourth PlayStation mini! Take to the sky-high tracks with speed and precision in Rocket Racing, which challenges your reflexes and daring across 24 levels in Grand Prix, Challenge and Quick Race events. Drive like a true prodigy by mastering advanced drifting and wall-boosting techniques."
Posted by Phil Larsen: Hi guys, Rocket Racing is the next title to hit PSP minis from Halfbrick, and I'm excited to announce that it will be released next Thursday, March 11.
OXCGN:
"Not every quality gaming experience comes from a full retail-sized video game these days. The new surprising breed of gameplay fun can actually come from a downloaded smaller and less expensive bite-sized game from Xbox Live Arcade (XBLA), Playstation 3's Playstation Network (PSN), or Nintendo Wii's Virtual Console.
While we enjoy these downloadable games from all consoles (Flower is an amazing concept!), we will be looking at our staff's most loved XBLA games. See if you agree with us, or if you have your own favourites and comment at the bottom of the article."
Oh, and several others. Thing is, especially of late, I don't get much chance to play any XBLA titles . . . but when I do, Snooker is one favourite, and funnily enough, Brain Train is heaps of fun as well.
I mostly just use XBLA to download extra multi levels.
Does PSN or Wii have any decent downloadable games on them? I've heard of Flower, but not much else.... besides rehashed old games.
I have to agree with this, as I have with most Halfbrick releases. This is probably the best indie game out and definitely worth 3 bucks. The controls do take some practice like that developer guide says, but hot damn boosting along walls is fun. Once you get it down it's pro addictive time setting FTW!
I'm so ADDICTED to this game now, playing multiplayer is AWSOME and setting single player leaderboard times kicks ass.
It DID take me a little time to get the hang of the controls. I started with the "Reversed" dual triggers controls but it was too steep for me initially, I then used "Stick" controls which is much easier and highly recommended whist you learn the game. After some practice I'm back to using dual triggers control again and wall grinding like a pro! Can't believe this game is only $3!
Games too hard for me ....
*groans*
I'll get the Trial Tomorrow.
