GameFocus: Brave: A Warriors Tale Review

GameFocus writes: "It's no secret that pickings have been a little slim this summer on the Wii. There haven't been many titles filtering through this summer, which has to be one of the most barren in recent memory. Collision and Southpeak seem to have picked a fine time to release their PS2 port, Brave: A Warrior's Tale, as it's been a while since most have had anything new ready for the Wii. The question is, does it quench the thirst for something new? Let's see."

Pros

+ A good amount of variety to the gameplay.
+ Good introduction to platforming for younger gamers.
+ Music is suitable, though it has issues.
+ Standard controls are good...

Cons

- ...but unpolished controls kill the experience.
- Poor framerate and camera system mar the experience constantly.
- Too easy for anyone over the age of 10.
- Graphics are decidedly last gen.
- Feels unfinished.

TGR Review: Brave: A Warrior's Tale

Lawrence Sonntag writes that "most aspects of the game aren't what a gaming enthusiast would consider good, or even adequate. The important thing to realize is that Brave just isn't for them, and conversely, neither is this review. This review is for parents who can hardly finish reading this paragraph because their child is wailing in the background, and quite possibly about to throw a pudding cup at the monitor. That parent will want to know if Brave will keep the little bast- err... bundle of love quiet long enough to justify the game's $30 price. Unfortunately, several factors prevent Brave from earning this blanket recommendation."

I love 3D platformers, but this one sounds particularly rancid

I do like the intro paragraph quite a bit.

Hmmm, I really enjoyed this review and as I got to the end, braced myself for the 2/10 that was surely coming. 4/10 suggests a game which is slightly below average.
