That Gaming Site: Cursed Mountain Review

That Gaming Site writes: "Climbing up high into the snowy Himalayas, exploring abandoned mountain villages and haunted temples littered with the paranormal and performing compassion rituals using Ice Axe. This probably isn't the survival horror game you've come to expect after mercifully tag teaming thousands of Majini in Resident Evil 5 but make no mistake, when it comes to true survival horror; Cursed Mountain is more deserving of that title."

Not a bad review for a game like this, at least the Wii is expanding beyond on rails horror titles.

raiden_935355d ago

I think Cursed Mountain is as scary as you can get on the Wii. Are there any other horror titles on the system minus on rail shooters and resident evil games? I know there are tons of the way like Silent Hill.

Elven65355d ago

I don't know why devs are going on rails, the hardware is comparable to last generation consoles which also had their own open world horror games.

I guess it might be the controls?

Ziriux5355d ago

I still think Resident Evil is more suspenseful.

Hagaf225355d ago

man i dont know what it is about the wii, but i just cant bring myself to play mine any more, there are some decent games, but i think its the controllers....not a bad review for a wii game though (how cliche for wii this gen, big seller with low reviews on games)

Reibooi5355d ago

Meh I don't think it's the right kinda game for the Wii but that's just me. I also think that the new Silent Hill coming to the Wii is a bad idea and from what I have seen it doesn't even look that good.

The only thing I will be playing on my Wii in the forseeable future is Muramasa.

Elven65355d ago

I wouldn't discount Silent Hill already, at least graphically it will look better than the original. The only killer on the Wii would be the controls. =/

Ziriux5355d ago

Meh, what is there not to discount about silent hill?

TheDarkCynic5355d ago

Now why are we hating on on-rails shooters. My experiences with horror games were built on them! House of the Dead was my obsession when I was younger. Dead Space: Extraction is going to rock all of our socks, and we know it.

PshycoNinja5355d ago

creapy looking picture there. Scared the Sh^t out of me...... literly.

Hagaf225355d ago

hahahaha another "good" wii game under a 8.... the wii is a fad, glad i have 2 other real systems....

Elven65355d ago

A 7 score isn't bad, anything between a 6-6.9 would be mediocre.

Ziriux5355d ago

Aww Hagaf, you hatin' on the Wii, it's a decent system that has it's hard core titles like Mario, Zelda, Metroid and Wario games.

Ziriux5355d ago

7, is a number that's lucky, so it's not too bad.

6 Horror Games To Play As The World Freezes Over

BD writes: Did you hear? There’s a polar vortex sweeping across the country, The Day After Tomorrow style, and unless you’re brave enough to risk instantly freezing as soon as you step outside — like those poor helicopter pilots, they will be missed — the only escape is through video games. Or Dennis Quaid. Since we’re in for a deep freeze, with most of the country already enduring ridiculously low temperatures, I thought I’d come up with a list of horror games we can all enjoy.

"the only escape is through video games. Or Dennis Quaid" lol

I haven't played Dead Space 3, I thought about renting it, but I didn't like DS2 very much, absolutely LOVED DS1, i've heard many times DS3 is even worser sequel

Starting a horror games list by mentioning Dead Space 3.. it's enough to make horror fans weep.

Feature: Halloween Scares on Wii

The scariest night of the year is now only two days away, a horrifying evening when strange children knock at the door and refuse to leave without a toll of sweets and candy. It's also the time of year when we willingly scare ourselves witless by playing frightening video games.

To finish off a week-long series of fond Wii remembrances, Nintendo Life wants to highlight some titles from the system's back-catalogue that are perfect for this time of year. It suggests turning out the lights, basking in the tiny blue glow of the Wii power switch and trying these titles this Halloween.
