Peace Walker to have full-featured single-player mode

Easing concerns from fans, Sean Eyestone of Kojima Productions confirms that Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker will have a full-featured single-player experience in addition to the newly introduced co-op mode.

It's actually just loading screens, walking to another door, and a cutscene which contains awsome action which you wish you could take part in... this for about 1 hour per cutscene.

Kojima gives out amazing cutscenes and story telling, and the gameplay is one of the best you'll ever played.

But I guess you won't experience that since I think you don't even have a console.

Realtime cutscenes use ingame assets, they are not pre-rendered. Or they may go the Portable Ops comicbook style route.

You are incorrect. The 360 RPGs weren't just in-game cutscenes, they had a lot of FMV cutscenes too. See Lost Odyssey or Infinite Undiscovery. And pretty soon FFXIII.

MGS4 filled up a Blu-Ray because it has uncompressed audio and textures, as well as having Metal Gear Online assets on the same disc.

I love the Metal Gear franchise as much as the next person but I fail to see Rising as a "spin off". No one said it was a spin off. You guys are still paranoid about the idea of an MGS game on 360. True MGS fans wouldn't complain about exclusivity as much as he/she would complain about quality. Quality is what I'm looking forward to and not the platform I am playing it on. Sure I'd rather play it on PS3 because I got used to the PLAYSTATION controller specially for Metal Gear games but give other people a chance to play the game aswell. Spreading Metal Gear throughout the gaming industry is a plus and everybody should support the idea of doing so. Put your fanboyism aside and enjoy what Kojima the genius has to offer. The man gave us masterpieces before and he is ready to give us more, masterpieces is what I want. :)

Hopefully at TGS we'll see a lengthy trailer of Peace Walker featuring story elements, I want to see more concerning the story and less co-op. Can't wait to get my hands on this. Kojima is the man.

Well, I've still got a concern. From the "either way" comment I'm worried it might be like RE5 where you're forced, in the SP, to carry an npc all the way through the game which wrecked RE5 for me.

If they go that route, with inferior AI even to the useless Sheva, on PSP it could fail even worse than the pretend npc co-op from Capcom did.

Nothing againmst some decent co-op just so long as it doesn't dilute the things which made a series great like what happened with RE5. If we're to have co-op in a MGS game it cannot be allowed to ruin the core SP stuff as immersion was almost totally blown away by having to wipe Sheva's ,admittedly shapely, bum all the way through the last Resi.

As for Rising: I'm just not treating it as a normal, true MGS game as they've changed the emphasis to "L B A" for the multi plat title presumably as they don't think 360 gamers wanted a proper(i.e usual)MGS game after seeing all the "it's just a movie!" remarks about MGS4 and want a game, set in the MG universe for people who weren't really into classic MGS to be able to manage.

It has the chance to be as good or bad as any NEW action game but the MG part of it's name has little to do with what we'll get to play-otherwise we'd be getting a MGS5 instead of these two games, imo. It's an attem,pt to reach a new market(largely) while trying to keep hold of as many old fans as possible-hence the new action description BUT also the inclusion of Metal Gear in the title. Whatever PW should be more of what we know and love while keeping an eye open and an open mind is prolly wise for MGS fans and newcomers alike for the Rising game-and also remember that this isn't the "A" team that made MGS4 making the multi platform Rising, but a less experienced team less likely to be weighed down with what's been done in the franchise previously(which makes them perfect, otoh, for PW's canon position)and, so, more free to go to new places with their game.IMO Hideo, while having a deal more to do on PW than Rising might actually be less involved with either than many people think-there's another exec, but uninvolved on a daily basis, role on the C'vania game and, likely, another game where he'll be really doing the work.

Kojima Productions doesn't always mean that Hideo's hands are all over a game j-just that he's approved the build so we should stop with the arguments over Koj and game/console preference-he might prefer Sony, idk, but who cares? We just need to wait and see how the two new MG games turn out and though I think Rising will be pretty distant in style to what we know and love that doen't make it automayically worse does it? I just hope we do have another game coming that Koj is PROPERLY involved in making rather than just being the fella signing everything off.

Yeah I see what you mean. A mandatory AI controlled partner to follow you around in a stealth game can have it's drawbacks. Let's just hope Kojima pulls it off.

And if Rising did change MGS's focus to hack n slash action, then you can probably count me out. I got bored with the best hack n slash game (God of War) so much so that I never finished it. So I doubt this would be any better.

I'm just not into hack n slash games, even if it is Metal Gear. Or racing games for that matter, though I doubt there'd ever be an MGS racing game.
