Review: Wolfenstein | GamesAreEvil.com

GrE writes, "While the Nazis were unarguably a naughty bunch of meanies, they were also responsible for some of the greatest vehicle and weapon design of World War 2. They wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes without their MP44s, Panzers and of course, the wildly infamous Veil Heavy Troopers with Particle Cannons. Realism and historical accuracy may have been subverted somewhat by developers Raven Software, but don't let this and the practically non-existent plot fool you: there's a lot to like about Wolfenstein..."

It'll never beat Wolfenstein 3D in my eyes ;)

Neco5125372d ago

I mean, how could it? You can play Wolfenstein 3d on any platform short of a toaster.

roblef5372d ago

Really? It seems like it's pretty good.

wondroushippo5372d ago

Hell, I DO have a toaster with Wolf3D on it.

bout ten hours on the sp easy to play jus follow the dot...
graphics are dated but woulda been top notch pre Cyrus.

Multi play is a waste slow to connect buggy laggy games very generic Also its got one of those perk systems that make you way more powerful as you get more money to upgrade. Since they fired the online team i also doubt well get good support on it.

great for a 10$ rental worth 30-40 to buy imo sp is solid n fun Stories a bit corny sure but the games still fun weapons n powerups are jus plain cool. And so are the ennemies tho the AI could use sum work.

I am going to have to say that I still think this game is garbage.

supercharger51505372d ago

I suppose the graphics do conjure up a sense of nostalgia for those old, old PC games, like Doom etc.

The_Zeitgeist5372d ago

This game was awesome. Have any of you played it. Because I did and I thought the single player was awesome. Multi-player sucked I agree. But as far as Campaigns go it was fun as hell.

It got old tbh. Machine needed a break from the IP. Indie is a good reprieve.

Scheiße! Nein.
Return to Castle Wolfenstein is the best in the series. After that:
New Order
New Colossus
Old Blood

I really wish they'd remake Return to Castle Wolfenstein from the ground up. Easily the best of them all.

MachineGames Proved It Was Worthy Of Wolfenstein By Fixing Bugs For Id Software

Speaking on Wassup Conversations, Matthies told the host that once MachineGames was founded, it didn't have enough money to hire a full development team and pitched around ideas for a while. Eventually, Id Software offered the team a chance to work with their IP, but first, they needed to prove themselves.
