Team Xbox Reviews Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars (Xbox 360)

Electronic Arts tried to do what others said was impossible when it brought real-time strategy (RTS) to the Xbox 360 in last year's The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth II. The results were much better than the disaster most expected it would be, but still not as good as most gamers wanted it to be. The experiment wasn't a failure, so you figured that EA would have to take another shot at the RTS-on-a-console again.

Well, now that RTS for consoles are provent to work. LET THE RTS Games begin. Let's hope the PS3 does not continue to missout in these games. Now the the 360 was use as a guiea pig... and it worked... now bring it to the other consoles.

There is no reason why RTS games won't be on the PS3. If theres money to be made, devs will jump on it. Are there none announced for PS3? Seems like the Wii would be great for RTS.

History of Real-Time Strategy: The Downfall (2004 - 2010)

VGChatz's Taneli Palola: "There's no question that during these years the overall popularity of the genre took a significant hit, as most games within it specialized even further by adding new elements from other types of games into their gameplay loops and consequently became increasingly niche as the years wore on.

However, this doesn't in any way mean that the period was devoid of great games. Quite the contrary, in fact. Arguably some of the greatest RTS titles ever made came out around this time, and much of this was because many developers were increasingly familiar and comfortable with adding new twists and gameplay elements to the familiar formula. As such, even when the genre's popularity dwindled, many studios were still creating excellent and groundbreaking titles almost every year, just for a smaller audience than in years past."

those were fun years red alert star craft command and conquer well when westwood studio made good games before EA brought them like bioware...

Aside from C&C 4, the other C&C's from EA were all good/great. The genre nose dived once Moba's rose in popularity, even Petroglyph Games (ex-Westwood employees) haven't had a hit since Star Wars: Empire at War (2006), all there games got abandoned after launch.

Command & Conquer Series Throwback

It's been a while since we have seen a new C&C and while it was a brilliant RTS game in it's time is there any hope for the series? For those who didn't know there was going to be a FPS version of C&C but instead we got C&C Generals.

Controller Issues

GamingLives laments the frustrating lack of controller support offered by some PC games.

"Perhaps most importantly for me, If I ever want to experience Oblivion - one of my most loved Xbox 360 games – in all its shiny PC glory, then, for the time being, I’ll have to stick my well-chewed wad of apathy gum under the table and dick about with Xpadder. However, if the mapping goes tits up and I end up attacking Thoronir instead of trying to buy a mortar and pestle, then I’ll be damn annoyed. But not too much. He’s a creepy bastard. Somehow though, I doubt that the Imperial Guard will buy the classic “Sorry, officer, I was asking if he wanted to buy a used primrose when my sword just accidentally went off. It’s never done that before!”
