Stalker vs. Real-Life

Comparison screenshots between Stalker: Call of Pripyat and Real-Life.

gintoki7775372d ago

looks great but i really dont ever think games will reach replicating real life until maybe 5080p tvs 0.0 or something

Pandamobile5372d ago

Us PC gamers can already play at resolutions of 5060 x 1050 with Triplehead2go. Resolution means nothing.

ambientFLIER5372d ago

Resolution has almost nothing to do with it. It's all about proper lighting and textures.

Pandamobile5372d ago

These screenshots don't do it justice. Stalker is really a beautiful game. It's got fantastic lighting and atmospheric effects.

Pandamobile5372d ago

People that disagree have obviously never played the game...

Timesplitter145372d ago

It looks really good but it's kinda pointless to compare it to real life since it doesn't really look the same

JonnyBigBoss5372d ago

Doesn't look like real-life...

shutupandplay5372d ago

Someone is particular. Stalker has some of the most amazing environments ever.

JonnyBigBoss5371d ago

I know that. I have it on my PC right now (never beat it though). It is one of the best-looking games, but it doesn't look like real-life in these images.

i think it was more to show how accurate the recreations were than how the graphics look like real life. still looking at the pics of just Pripyat is really eirie (sp? lol)

Still kind of haunting to think that Chernobyl only happened 23 years ago.

peeps5371d ago

yeh. spookey to think of this adandoned town where no1 goes anymore (for obv reasons). Not exactly the same but i recently went on holiday all around eastern europe and visited Sarajevo. was crazy to think the seige only happend about 14 years ago and theres plenty of evidence around (bullet holes cover everywhere etc)

PS360PCROCKS5371d ago

Holy jesus I'm an idiot! ::facepalm:: when you mentioned Chernobyl, I thought Call Of Duty: MW. So I first googled Chernobyl and read about the explosion. I than googled Chernobyl COD and it's the ghost town mission. Now I'm like well no fuc*in duh it was deserted and radiation is in the game. Damn I feel completely retarded for not knowing that. I think I learned about that in school, but I dunno, I was only 1 when it happened.

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

Lol

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games

I played them all, they are all good in their own way
I used to be obsessed with FPS games
