Diehard GameFAN: G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra Review (PS3)

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra is by no means worth full sticker price. The controls are awful, the camera is worse, and the extras are pretty poor compared to what they could have thrown in. Everything else about the game is mediocre or below average and at the end of the day, it's a pretty shallow game that would have been better suited as a budget game. As a long time fan of G.I. Joe, Diehard GameFAN's Alex Lucard appreciates that the game tried to stick more to the comics and cartoons than the movie tie-in it was supposed to be and he enjoyed the attempt at turning the original Joe mini-series "The M.A.S.S. Device," into a video game, but there's just too much wrong with this title to recommend it. From Snake Eyes being the worst playable character in the game to Double Helix throwing in fake Joes instead of real ones, The Rise of Cobra feels like it was made by Dreadnoks rather than quality programmers.

Cosplay Babe of the Week is the Baroness

J Lynch: "It seems like every week when we’re trying to figure out who to pick as the CBotW, we end up looking to the fighting genre because game designers have intentionally made the female characters of that genre appear “over the top” (and quite often in the “top” area). Instead we’ve looked to the action genre and plucked a character from the world of games based on cartoons and movies. While games based on licensed materials rarely satisfy, we think our pick this week for the Cosplay Babe of the Week does a good job."

There's something about tight clothes, big boobies and nice asses :D

I'm sold for that asian beauty who dominated the gallery with picture amount. Also last pic from second page. That girl looks evil, I love it, great cosplay.

GunShotEddy5047d ago

Actually like that these girls pulled off sexy while be covered. See ladies, you don't have to be half-naked to be hot.

Something about the red hair on her. She's the asian Baroness?

RageAgainstTheMShine5047d ago

... she is a Filipina like moi.

jphelps805047d ago

She have worn that red wig and done Scarlett from GI Joe and do like a both sides thing. Very nice.

charlescox45047d ago

Asians FTW. The one on page two destroys em all. And thatOs taking into account that the others are hot too.

BeaRye5047d ago

The one doing laundry is the same ciosplayer who does that super popular Morrigan. She's very well 'equipped' for cosplaying.

DGS-Online: G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra Review

DGS-Online writes: "What underlies the phenomenon as a return of GI Joe? Youth Sentiment and enthusiasm of the generation who grew up, and now the opportunity to ensure a revival? The cynic would argue that it is cheaper for an existing concept to dust off something completely new. Anyway, the end result is a game based on a film based on a popular series in the 80 toys."

Gamer 2.0 Review: GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra

Gamer 2.0 writes: "If you don't mind, we would like to take the opening of this review to catch our breath a little. You see, we've been assaulted. Heavily. We didn't expect to be smacked with such a mind-numbing force when we popped in our copy of GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra. All was fine through the first bit of it. We were able to laugh off the melodramatic voice acting and horrific-looking character models. But what we didn't know was how much of a chore getting through the game would be. And knowing is half the battle, right?"
