Sony PlayStation 'The PlayStation 3 Slim launch Videos' by TBWA\Media Arts London

Sony PlayStation is positioning its new PS3 as a console that goes beyond gaming in a new TV spot created by TBWA\London.
These high-octane ads, which run with the endline the game is just the start seeks to promote the console as an all-round entertainments hub, by highlighting that it can also be used to view blue-ray movies and TV shows.

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe is to launch an £82 million PS3 marketing campaign designed to help the company win the Christmas console battle.

OMG. These adverts are freaking perfect. I think Sony's got their groove back now.

"but, but our console has teh dvd9 and can set a house on fire!"

The roof! The roof is on FIRE!! >:D

Sarcasm5371d ago

Finally, ads that get straight to the point. No more 28 seconds of weirdness then 2 seconds of the PS3 logo.

Pretty good adverts :) Could do with showing off some gameplay too, but overall a MASSIVE improvement on the This is Living adverts

EDIT: Scratch that, first advert is brilliant, even boasting the free online - this advert need to be on a lot :)

killing the competition!!!!

rockleex5371d ago (Edited 5371d ago )

That's weird. Here's what I found when I Google'd "START PS3" like it said at the end of the PS3 ads from this article.

It didn't exactly convince people to get a PS3 and show off what's it's capable of though, did it. I also hated the circus advert, best ads for Sony so far were the Uncharted giant leap teaser ads and obviously the great Killzone 2 ads. Annoyed Infamous didn't get any epic comic book style advertising.

EDIT: Whoops, I missed out the funny LBP level commentary adverts.

lol that commercial was just freaky, my favorite for the ps3 was this

Cajun Chicken5371d ago

That's epic, I never saw that on TV in the UK.

Christopher5371d ago

Thing is, the older commercials were great for getting gamers like ourselves into the PS3. But, most of us now already have it and they need to focus on the other people who really aren't hardcore gamers and more than likely are a bit confused by all that's shown in some of the older commercials that just throw a ton of gameplay shots at them.

Dude that ps9 commercial was for the PS2 back in the day.. if im correct it came around 200-2001 i think.

still the greatest commercial of all time... :)

I remember back when they were running those ads sale rose and stayed high considerably. Then they stopped running them (of course) and sales went back down.

FlipMode5371d ago

Makasu5371d ago
