COD has always been about realism, and in reality, its not practical to wield two guns at once, unless its like a low caliber handgun or something with very little recoil.

Save that junk for the noobs and the halo fans. COD is about playing smart and placing your shots, not spamming your gunfire hoping you're going to hit something. If you play on hardcore and you need to dual wield to kill something than you shouldn't be playing COD.

This sounds like when they mistakenly added tanks to COD5, we all know how long that lasted...

@Tony - Cod is not about being smart or placing your shots, its about spamming bullets and hitting the other guy first. Its a noob friendly game but it just so happens to be very fun. Heck the guns have less recoil than bb guns.

I think dual-wielding is very much a welcomed feature and quite realistic(50cal? I don't know) and will actually be great. Infinity Ward hasn't fumbled yet, and they won't if this is true. It will be balanced. This is infinity Ward we're talking about.

Dual wielding realistic? Real soldiers don't dual wield, mainly because accuaracy counts more in real life than spamming someone with bullets. You ever seen dual weilding in sims like Arma 2 either?

while I agree with your assessment of practicality, COD is not about realism. Take the damage on the RPG for example...zero blast radius, no concussion force? I won't even get started on what a barret 50 cal can do to a manhole cover, much less a human being.

Dual wielding worked fine for Goldeneye, and its not like its a good long range solution. I don't think it will ruin the game.

The thing that annoyed me the most was when I realized how ridiculous the enemies were acting in the snowmobile chase.

They are actually coming from behind and drives past you so you can shoot them. Again and again, instead of keeping behind you so you can't get a shot at you and just blast you in the back of the head. That's just lame...

@1.2- CoD is one of the most unskilled games out there. im sure you say that its about placing shots well... i rarely ever get shot above the waist in cod, how is that good aiming? its more effective shooting in the legs than in the head, how is that realistic? its all about spray and pray... I agree with you guys, COD is a noob friendly game, were easy to learn and master. I do wish they would make a bit tougher to hit ppl and characters always stick out to the point that you can see them across the map.
If I want more realistic shooters Ill play Socom or R6 Vegas.
Cod is a lot of fun though, mostly because of the point system and leveling up and unlocking things, basically the RPG elements.

If you're sick of "Easy Shooters" and want something realistic, go to SOCOM (They just patched it this morning and free map packs are coming in a week or two).

Granted, you'll get your ass handed to you day in and out if you're new to the series but hey - You won't have the frustrations of playing a Noob-Shooter anymore. You'll just have the frustrations of playing a game that you'll suck at ;)

The game is running so much smoother now though because of the patch. I'll be on all night.

well i doubt they're gonna let you aim in with both. it'll probably be used the same way as halo with both triggers but we're not aiming in by pressing the right stick. so it wont be that accurate unless you're fairly close.

Killzone 2 is just a clusterf*ck. It's actually worse than the Call of Duty games. Spawn grenades are everywhere, and even if you personally don't choose to spawn at them, everyone else does, so it doesn't really matter. So before you even speak again, do not tell me that Killzone 2 requires "skill". If you really think you're cool or skilled or w/e just because you don't like to play the popular game (which is what is happening with most of the cod haters here, aside from the price spike), then I'm sorry, but you are a complete and utter douchebag.

Spawn grenades are part of strategy not skill, just like choosing placement for turrets. Finishing at the top actually requires some combination of skills and thinking( and knowing maps).

If you are playing 32 players with Rockets enabled..... then it is total chaos, but still fun from time to time.

If you want an ultra-realistic war game, get operation flashpoint and stop whining. fourzerotwo already said you can't aim down the sites and accuracy isn't stable when dual wielding. You want historic realism, than take a history class. This game is all about shooting people with modern weapons. By the way, I work in law enforcement for the government and every agent is instructed on firing 2 .40 sig suaers p229's before they can qualify. It's not something that is used on a daily basis, but it's a last ditch effort to suppress the enemy with multiple fire so you can retreat to a safe zone. That is a modern technique and IW is actually correct here. Anyone who uses dual dessert eagles agaisnt an mp5 or famas, or sig 552, is going to die, quickly.

I love all the people saying MW2 is making COD casual and unrealistic as if it was ever anything else. I guess I keep forgetting that real soldiers can equip sonic boom to increase the size of their grenade explosions or juggernaut so that their harder to kill. It's intentionally "magical" but that doesn't mean you can't assume that soldier is wearing extra armor or using more powerful explosive rounds.

But this...I see it more plausible in Old School mode but I'm rather on the fence about it on regular (At least, Ranked) modes.

There seems to be quite alot of hatred towards this game now, when 6+months ago nearly every man and his dog was really looking forward to its release.

I can certainly understand the frustration towards Activision and the way its treating people. They have developed the attitude that caused Sony alot of PR problems a few years ago, where they think their customer base will be willing to pay anything because 'they are that good', and part of me is glad that people are standing up against things like this (although why the same attitude was never applied to Microsoft and the RRoD fiasco i'll never know)

But people calling it a 'noob fest' are a little wide of the mark i personally think. Its no more of a noob fest compared to Halo 3, or Battlefield 1943, or Killzone 2, or Unreal Tournement, or any other FPS for that matter. That said, i have come across very skillful players in COD4 (and the other games i've mentioned too) and some rather outstanding clans, where the stragegy involved is quite impressive.

I enjoy Call of Duty. I think its a blast. If i wanted realism from my gaming, well, i wouldn't be gaming, and for me, having everything ultra realistic would ruin alot of games that i like. I find nothing wrong with COD4 (apart from the annoying glitchers, but its nowhere near as bad as the FIFA 09 dream team glitch), and the only ones who do complain are the ones who are getting owned that much they simply don't enjoy it, or cannot face up to the fact that might not be 'very good' at a popular game.

Still, those that don't enjoy it, or aren't good at it, there's plenty of FPS games out there, give the others a try, but i virtually guarentee that you'll be going back to COD at some point

I don't know if you know me, but i never liked MW. I think i stated that a few times last year. I got it for free for my 360 but i don't play it. I don't know bout anybody else but the game was real easy for me when i unlocked the p90 and put the right perks on. I play other FPS like Battlefield: Bad Company, Halo 3, and Kill zone 2.

I recently just bought MW a month ago because my friend was playing, but i only touch it twice and i was already first or second in each match. I don't like it, but i'm not gonna say it sucks for other people (thats just my opinion of the game.....maybe its cause people over-hyped it idk)

Stuff like MP5 beating out a SAW, etc. at point blank range. 50 Cal Barrett needing 2 shots center mass to kill someone. A Barrett should be a 1 shot kill even without a Stopping Power perk, PERIOD. The most realistic portayal of the Barrett that I've seen was in the last Rambo movie, there is no walking though taking a hit from that bullet, not even if it is an arm shot. You ass is hitting the deck.

But we all know that COD is not about realism, the different gun classes are more about style, etc. than it is about the accuracy of the gun physics, because there simply isn't any when it comes to COD. Once you get into the upper classes of the heavy weapons, anyone laying on the ground with a heavy machine gun SHOULD mow down anybody running around stages with MP5s. - I stress the word SHOULD.

Also, everyone with cheating mod controllers with rapid fire are all celebrating right now, twin Deagles that fire like MP5s. Yipppeeee!

don't forget the whole idea that you get shot a couple times and go behind cover and come back good as new after waiting a second.

or that the blast radius on MW grenades is absurdly small compared to real life.

the gun physics are basically just watered down Counterstrike gun physics and totally unrealistic.

dual wielding deagles would seriously mess you up from the rifle-like kickback. you can't even run and rapidly shoot one deagle in real life without breaking your hand

Dual wield needs to stay in single player, and if they do allow it in multi-player then is should only be for a select few weapons and the accuracy needs to be bumped way down so only the very skilled would be able to get a kill from it, b/c if I get killed from some noob who is just spaying bullets without aiming im going to be highly pissed.

I mean, I guess it would make sense to easily kill anybody while protecting the Bomber since you can't use your weapon while using a riot shield and equipping your regular weapons may take precious seconds you need.

I've played MW Its Not that good killzone 2 is better and Rainbow six vegas is a better game than MW. The Controls are better on KZ2 and RSV . MW just seems like i am running on Skates attacthed to puppet strings .That is not realistic plus i dont even like shooting games
