In 2007, Sony revealed that through a new contract, NCsoft would produce PlayStation 3 exclusives using both old and new IP's. Ever since the announcement, gamers have wondered exactly what titles NCsoft would bring to the PS3.
According to an email PSLS received from a NCsoft representative, you can now cross Aion: Tower of Eternity and Guild Wars off the list of possible PS3 titles.
Wccftech talked to Guild Wars 2 Game Director Josh Davis about the learnings from the Secrets of the Obscure expansion and what's coming to the MMORPG.
The "slippery slope" debate has started, now we wait to see what ArenaNet does.
"ArenaNet and NCSOFT are today very happy and excited to announce that they have just released the "Secrets of the Obscure" expansion for their award-winning and critically acclaimed MMORPG "Guild Wars 2"." - Jonas Ek, TGG.
Anet also announced the 5th expansion. "We’ve already started applying lessons from the development of Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure to our fifth expansion, which we expect to be released next year." From their site, been with this game since 1st beta, and announcing the 5th expansion so soon, the game is doing very well, plus the graphics are improved a bit now that it's on DX11🙃
are they working on then for the PS3?
too bad :( ... Hoping that Blade and Soul Game comes to ps3 looks so awesomed hope they can tell if that coming to ps3 or not >>>
Guild Wars will soon be replaced with GW2, which likely won't make its way to any console either since it is heavily dependent strong keyboard control in PvP and in groups.
Aion is kind of like WoW and with lots of abilities as you gain in levels, it really doesn't belong on the console since it also would require use of keyboards and mouses anyways.
Both would look about as good on the consoles as they do on the PC, though, due to appropriate use of architecture that does a good job of making mid-level graphic quality look almost as good as high-level graphic quality.
I've used mouse and Keyboard on the ps3 with FFXI so I know thats not the problem.
Aion might be stretching it a bit since its coming out next month. Hopefully its Blade & Soul since there hasn't been that much info on it since a few months back.
NCsoft know where the MMO market is at.
