That's a great question and one that should have been asked even though she may have asked the question circumvent her and towards the developers on that one.

My one issue with this game is I'm hoping it wasn't conceived in haste. So it's pretty much confirmed that actual production started shortly b4 the announcement last year and I'm worried that there wasn't enough time to conceptualize a great story component to flow with the general gameplay.

This game, though admittedly - by the developers - inspired by Gears, has to have something to really propel it into it's own forum without it coming off as a wannabe. It has obvious Final Fantasy over tonnes to it's art direction so I'm hoping it'll have the same in regards to it's story.

Just don't know if 2yrs is enough to make this game stand on it's own merits properly but hey, it's over a year to go in development so I'm guessing we'll be seeing a bigger better picture of the game as time goes on and according to the Q&A, starting with TGS later this year :D

Anyways, Im happy PS3's getting more exclusives, whether Quantum Theory will be AAA is STILL in question since we've barely seen any gameplay(mezzo). However, from what Ive seen, Lost Planet 2 looks like a far more intriguing TPS. Am I the only one who saw that huge lizard boss?? WOW...

Im comparing them because there both THIRD-PERSON SHOOTERS that are coming out on the PS3 around the same time. Uve never seen anyone make a comparison before? It's done quite often on this site with various consoles and games. U should try it one day :D

Ya... but games like Dante's Inferno take it too far. Quantum is a Gears rip, but at least the devs have put in an effort to put new elements where close combat can be DMC style.... Just cause you have a heavy male and a cover system (which ironically even Gears ripped) doesn't make it a rip-off... But to give the devs credit, at least they are saying that they have had their inspiration from Gears.

Dante's Inferno is rippin off on a whole new level... The game basically took GOW3... Dumped down the graphics, changed a few enemies here and there (although copying the art style) and voila.... You get DI.. Heck, you even get orbs when you kill and there are 2 bars at the top left along with a counter which counts the Hits so far like GOW games (and that too it has the same FONT!!!!)..... I don't know the copyright clause or something, but I feel EA should be sued by Santa Monica studios.

this game looks ok, but i dont like every single enemy being "organic" shooting at the makes crap come out instead of blood, which is what turns me off about dantes inferno as well. I understand theyre 'plant-ish' but it looks pretty weak, also the flying beasts and such look out of place, there are other ways to incorporate fantasy into a title that arent adding these final fantasy like monsters there, i feel like I should Nero their ass instead of shooting them, but thats the only things i find bad, shooting looks solid, although I dont like the main gun, too spiky i believe. i do like their rifle though.

I hope this game doesnt fail.

This game has to look as good as Uncharted 2 to qualify as quality PS3 game.

At E3, Tecmo said the game was running at 40% so it'll look way better than Gears 2 when it actually comes out. Right now, it looks like crap and the game might inevitably be crap if its only been in development for a little over a year. Still, we won't know anythg until the game actually comes out so anyone leaving comments like Quantum Theory> Gears 1 and 2 this early could go suck it. I mean c'mon, the fact that we're even comparing it to Gears just shows how successful the Gears franchise is, regardless of my personal problems with Gears 2.

Seeing as they has stuff to actually show rather than just announcing the game at last ears TGS I would imagine that something was lost between this being a PR woman answering the questions and what has actually come from the dev team. 1 year couls easily just mean anything under two years really, imo.

The new thing for me was the definite "yes" ro MP modes(as well as the flip flop over the name!)and the fact they're now using Art Nouveau to describe the artstyle-which was always my opinion and the biggest difference from Gears to me.

At above-those comparing this to LP2; I don't see much of a comparison really as I think the main focus of LP2 will be the co-op(hope I'm wrong and the SP wil be just as strong but after Capcom ruining RE5 just to shoehorn co-op in I have my worries)while QT should be a more pure SP experience but both games have loads to prove, imo. LP2 HAS to make better use of the premise than the lacklustre first game and QT must have a great story n there if it's really going to work as if it dooesn't it'll be hard to get away from those comparisons to Gears and to form it's own niche.

Still hopeful on both counts at this point but neither game has blown me away in any respect-LP2 looks great but patchy and GT is just too much of a mystery even now to say much with confidence though it's good to see Tecmo at least trying something new for them.

From what they have stated in previous interviews...there will be NO co-op in the main story. They said that the female comes along later in the development of the storyline, so it would be hard to just place her in there. But, when online there might be some sort of co-op options for later. I can't remember the source of the info (as I have followed the game on many sites.) But, it was a "hand-on" with a PR or DEV when the question was answered. I HOPE that they change that, but I will be keeping my eyes on this one for sure!

It does look good, but its main problem is that it looks so much like gears, and gears 2 is a brilliant game. I just think that if this game ends up scoring worse, everyone will call it a flop and it will sell badly...
