Seriously Sony, where's the advertising?

all i heard was the end playstation name thingy but still it was a surprise hearing it

I saw the Harry Potter and Transformers ads here were PlayStation branded... if only they'd get their branding on some good games and maybe show ads for their own games.

I mean, the last PS3 1st party exclusive ad I saw on TV was Gran Turismo 5 Prologue.

They have their hands on all the EA Sports games this year.

I haven't seen any Lamborghini, Skyline or Ferrari commercials either.

I guess some things in life, just don't need much advertising.

hopefully when the slim and price drop occurs they'll market the hell out of it, one of the reasons nintendo have done so well the past few years is its blanket advertising, i must see more DS and wii commercials then any other product these days

It's in Las Vegas off of the main strip. They have a huge PSP with a screen constantly running PlayStation adverts.

Otherwise, it seems in the U.S. Sony pretty much sticks to the Web and Magazines.

Wow it took a smart one to write this article. This is one of the most tired arguments on N4G. Sony isn't getting it done on advertising and everyone knows this already.

say what you want but they dont. people have been doubting these guys and look now. It's not like people dont know the ps3 is out their. all they need to is advertise a new price. the ps3 is selling with the xbox and even faster at 2 times the price. why do they need to advertise more. thing is sony is doing what sony does and that is build great games and alt of them. if you are a gamer you cant ignore the games that are coming on the system.Even if you are not you know about blu ray and you know god of war and gt.
point is sony will have a library that will be better than the ps2 libray and its not ignorable. infamous game of the summer right!is on the ps3 in year 3. so what about the people who pick up the ps3 in year 6 and on the greatest hits for 30 bucks is infamous.

see while sony touted the 10 year plan we all must have forgot. seiously if you are a perosn that picks up a ps3 in yr 8 adn you havent palyed mgs4 yet are you still gonna play it. yep 30 bucks while people want sony to be more like m$ its not gonna happen. being in this game for yrs sony has learned unlike m$ that systems have to last 10 yrs if you wan to recoupe serious benefits from it.
just look at m$ they charge for everything out of necessity. they make no money on cosoles really throughout the whole system life cycle. 360 natal will comeout and M$ has made no money, then xbox 720 or what ever will com eand they have made no money on natal. see they got away with alot coming first, forcing sony, and having a half a$$ system that found its broken and designed flaw way into people houses.
now it has really put a cap on gaming for awhile and its not good.

the xbox hasnt really gone to far with anything that it does( besides live) it's basically a high def original xbox. alot of games look like they havent had anything put into them but what is normally in a game nothing ground breaking. M$ please just make software let sony have the hd market and you will rake in the cash. it doesnt make sense sony is showing you that M$ is not going to over take them in the gaming business. they could possibly have 3 systems selling the most on the market at the same time psp go ps3 slim and ps2 well out selling xbox these aint touching wii. Im jsut saying m$ could be selling games on wii ps3 psp dsi ipod and iphone. instead the 360 has done a good job of taking control of the us gaming market for short term. nowthey have positioned themselves where they look although in the lead in 3 rd place.
