Take the artstyle of 70's and early 80's anime, sprinkly in some Power Rangers/Voltron colored player ship and put that up against some boss monsters that would fit in with a Godzilla movie from Japan and make it a side scrolling shooter in the style of Gradius and you have Goldrake Spacer for PC.
