Lost and the Damned was way way better than GTA4 IMO.So i hope Ballard of Gay Tony can surpass or at least match The Lost and The Damned

talltony5398d ago (Edited 5398d ago )

to ask for "Gay Tony" at Gamestop.

So I may end up just downloading it.

Blaze9295398d ago (Edited 5398d ago )

Yeah I actually had way more fun with and enjoyed the Lost and Damned ALOT more than I did GTAIV itself. L&D was just great and too bad it ended a bit too quick. I agree, hopefully Gay Tony matched L&D. Even if it doesn't, I'm still buying day 1. This is great.

" I am too embarassed to ask for "Gay Tony" at Gamestop. "

not funny.

talltony5398d ago

In the end the name will hurt it, and I am not trying to be funny.

JasonXE5398d ago

Actually no, the name will just help it way more. Look at the press and media the episode got when it was announced! Now wait till its released, alot of "Videogames now attacking Gays!" crap from Fox News likely etc etc. Bad press is also good press.

RockmanII75398d ago

The game is going to be called "Grand Theft Auto IV: Episodes From Liberty City" so no need to worry about saying gay in public.

pppppeach5397d ago

GTA 4 is the best game so far for me personally.

I loved the DLC and will download this one as soon it hits marketplace :)

Elven65397d ago

The full name of the game is Grand Theft Auto IV: The Ballad of Gay Tony, even saying The Ballad of Gay Tony will give the employees a rough idea as to what game you want, they do work at a games store after all and probably are gamers to boot.

...when will the PS3 get those expensions??

EDIT: why all the disagrees???? I was just asking a question....I never stated that this comes to the PS3

What a bunch of morons.

Unicron5398d ago (Edited 5398d ago )

It would be nice. I still don't like how GTA, Ninja Gaiden, Fallout or Tales of fans have been treated this generation. It's rather disgusting.

Welcome to Blogs4Fanboyz. Ignore the disagree system, it's for pvssies who don't know how to articulate their thoughts properly.

Blaze9295398d ago (Edited 5398d ago )

uhhhh never? However rumor points to that Rockstar will release two more expansions but this time, will finally release on the Playstation 3 as well as the Xbox 360. The 360 just in total, will have two more episodes in the end becuase Microsoft paid $50 mil for them to KEEP.

Although I'm starting to wonder and doubt that $50 mil was just for two episodes ALONE. Maybe marketing, the commercials, dumb shirts and stickers R* sent out to reviewers with L&D and probably towards funding a new Xbox 360 exclusive, probably the one rumored by the Bully guys.

Parapraxis5398d ago

MS paid for "exclusive DLC"...this is not DLC, I would not be at all surprised if this was released for PS3.
Rockstar would do well to release this for both platforms. Not only would they NOT be breaking any "exclusive DLC" contract deals with MS, they would also make a ton more money from the combined user bases (GTA IV sold very well on PS3, the consumers are there).

Lucreto5398d ago

Firstly MS loans money to the Rockstar to make "exclusive" dlc. This money has gone into the development of the title but MS wants it back. There aim was to increase sales towards the 360 with "exclusive content" so they would get more Royalties and take sales away from the PS3.

MS takes a majority of the profit, for this example I will say two thirds and the rest to Rockstar as profit. Due to the fact lots of people didn't like the game sold it before the dlc came out and it may not have met with MS expectations so they release a disk version that is playable without the original game to make up the extra money.

Once MS have gotten their money back the dlc rights will return to Rockstar and keep all profits from here on out to themselves. From this they will create new dlc with a possible release of the older dlc on the PS3 at a later date and using the new dlc to get the PS3 fans motivated. The current dlc would not be enough to motivate PS3 gamers to get it so giving new dlc on top will get people motivated.

This is my opinion so don't take if as Gospel (or whatever book of true to believe in) but I base this on the fallout 3 model.

The dlc was exclusive and it was announced for the PS3 along with new dlc to appear after the older ones.

Blaze9295398d ago (Edited 5398d ago )

Hmm dunno, Playstation Insider reported this awhile back:

http://psinsider.e-mpire.co...

Seems they were right on a few things about this. That was in March, Gay Tony and the DLC coming to a disc was announced in May. So if they are correct, which they seem to be, could be seeing it mid for $39.99 as they stated.

Looking Back At 2008, An Unbelievably Incredible Year Of Video Game Releases

Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."

ChasterMies7d ago

Some of these low paid video game “news” writers weren’t born before 2007.

just_looken7d ago

Here here

Those that were around before 2000's i am sure are like me that think we entered a world of non readers or those that follow without question.

I can not wait to see fallout 3 a goty game even though it was about water with non content until you add the dlc/updates then you got the performance/crashing

CrimsonWing698d ago

I don’t think anything can compare to 2023

lucasnooker8d ago

1998 - the best year in gaming! Metal gear solid, crash bandicoot 3, medievil, half life, ocarina of time, thief, tenchu, resident evil 2, Spyro, tomb raider 3, oddworld abes exodus, banjo kazooie.

It was a different breed of a gaming era. You’ll never understand what it was like back then. The aura of gaming, it was different!

KyRo8d ago (Edited 8d ago )

I second this. Gaming was a lot more varied and fun than it is today. I'm 35 so getting on compared to some here but I got to see all the changes from NES up to now but I've never felt so disappointed in any generation than I have this current gen. I was expecting more from this generation rather than prettier versions of games that came before it. Game mechanics have become so refined that alot of games feel the same and has done for a while now.

Maybe it's time to have a break for a while. I love gaming but I don't feel I get much fun in the traditional sense out of it anymore.

CrimsonWing698d ago (Edited 8d ago )

Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 2, Abe’s Exodus, and Ocarina of Time are the only things from that list that I liked.

Here’s the 2023 game releases that I personally liked… and big releases that I didn’t care for:

- Dead Space Remake
- Wo Long Dynatsy
- Resident Evil 4 Remake
- Diablo 4
- Fire Emblem Engage
- Hogwarts Legcay
- Street Fighter 6
- Hi-Fi Rush
- Like a Dragon: Ishin
- Octopath Traveler 2
- Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters
- Final Fanatsy XVI (actually ended up not liking this, but it was still a big deal release)
- Baldur’s Gate 3
- Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon
- Lies of P
- Mortal Kombat 1
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
- Starfield (Ended up hating this one, but big release)
- Super Mario Bros. Wonder
- Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (I’m an old-school Zelda fan, but didn’t really enjoy this game)
- Alan Wake 2

I mean, honestly I’ve never seen a year of major IP releases like that, ever.

Profchaos8d ago (Edited 8d ago )

Isn't it just a generational thing realistically.

I've been gaming since way back and I some of my favourite games go as far back as the late 80s for me each generation has a year or two of game changing releases one after another before an inevitable dry spell.

I kind of agree gaming had a different feel games hit different because we didn't have the internet nothing got spoiled and you really had to put in the effort to beat a puzzle which could set entire groups of people looking for a solution. But most importantly games were experimental and not as cookie cutter as today even basics like controls were not universal today r2 is shoot l2 is ads garunteed you can't deviate from that in a shooter back then it could of been square, R1 or R1 and circle nothing was standard.

But as time moves on a new generation picks up their controller they are going to be interested in different things that PS1 demo disc with the t Rex blew our primitive 16 bit brains back on launch but to kids today it's laughable.
The new gen of kids coming into to hobby seem to value different things to us there seems to be a huge focus on online play, streamers, gaming personalities, and social experiences, convience of digital downloads. To me I value none of that but that's ok like my parents not liking the band's I would listen to its just the natural cycle.

Gameseeker_Frampt7d ago

Just about every year in the 7th generation was great and something we most likely won't experience again.

2009 for example had Assassin's Creed 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Dragon Age: Origins, Uncharted 2, Halo 3: ODST, Killzone 2, Borderlands, Bayonetta, and Demon's Souls to name a few.

just_looken7d ago

It still amazes me we got over 7 rockstar games ps2/ps3 but 3 for the ps3/ps4/ps5

Dragon age 1-3 and mass effect 1-3 in 7ish years what a generation.

Grand Theft Auto 4 Anniversary: The Beginning of the Age of RAGE

Grand Theft Auto 4 is an important game for Rockstar, not least because it was the first title in the franchise to use the newly created RAGE engine.
