Speaking to VideoGamer.com at London's recent Shine Week, Harvey Elliott, head of EA Bright Light studio based in Guildford, revealed that while he feels Boom Blox has really captured the spirit of what the Wii is about, we shouldn't rule out the franchise making an appearance on other platforms.
With the Wii U coming out tomorrow the staff of VGutopia decided to take a look back at the top 10 Wii games that came out over the past six years.
On the eve of the Wii U, The National Post's Post Arcade team looks back at 10 Wii classics.
From fun times with everyone’s favourite plumber to stretchy, googly-eyed balls of goo [there's] no better way to bid your outgoing Wii a fond farewell than to scrounge around the bargain bins of used games stores and grab a few of these bona fide classics.
Monster Hunter Tri- and The Last Story (which I need to finish still) are some games that I certainly will not forget.
GamesBeat reached out to some key games industry figures (from Nintendo, 2D Boy, Gaijin Games, and more) to ask which Wii titles they think deserved a wider audience. Here are their thoughts.
There's so many great games on Wii that get overlooked, and then gamers complain about no new games... How about A Boy and His Blob, Sin and Punishment 2, Madworld, Lost in Shadow, Lit, Dead Space Extraction, Fragile Dreams, No More Heroes 1 and 2, the Res Evil Chronicles games, Sakura Wars, Lost Winds, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Epic Mickey, de Blob, the Bit.Trip games... That's totally ignoring any first party titles, and I'm probably forgetting a bunch. With La Mulana and Retro City Rampage and Last Story coming out, the Wii has been a lot of fun!
Zack & Wiki takes my pick. Really hope Capcom would do a sequel. Wishful thinking at best.
I did play some of these games:Cave story,Boom blox(didn't really like it)Fire emblem,Wario Land shake(see boom blox),&Excite truck
It would work well with the ps3 motion controllerm not too sure about natal. Wonder if there is going to be 3rd party support for the gametrak freedom?
Ugh... I hate "journalist" for this. He never said they've thought about putting it on other consoles, the interviewer purposely asked and they gave the generic response that it might, because in the future... it might.
Ugh, "journalism" nowadays.
I wonder how much it'd sell on the other consoles anyway considering the fact that it's a kiddy, family game and the "hardcore" gamers look down on it?
I'll tell you what...I've been up late at night worrying that Boom Blox won't be on other platforms! You have no idea how this puts my mind at ease.

Look at it like this:
hardcore gamers do buy more casual games, so it'll probably sell good. On the other hand, nongamers don't buy hardcore games (we've seen it with Madworld and recently The Conduit on the Wii).
Not to forget that the 360 locked the hardcore gamer and with Natal goes after the casual market. Nintendo ATM ownes the casual/nongamer market, but won't be able to get the hardcore gamer back again, at least not this gen and seen their strategy never again.
Thus: 360 can get gamers from the Nintendo target group with games like Boom Blox, but Nintendo isn't able to steal thunder on 360's targetgroup.
Get it, got it?!
plus:
"EA: Don't rule out Boom Blox on other formats"
compared to
"He never said they've thought about putting it on other consoles, the interviewer purposely asked and they gave the generic response that it might, because in the future... it might. "
Thats pretty much the same there. It might come to other consoles in the future, so you can't rule out Boom Blox on other formats.
Isn't so hard to understand now, is it? Nintendo fanboy much, right?
Didnt they already announce that this was coming to the 360? like at E3 or something?
