Resistance Fall Of Man Evolution : Alien(s) To Chimera

SKOAR! " We've all seen the Chimera strain evolve past three games now, those big glowing eyes coupled with the terrifying teeth eventually made a huge impact on the Sony community. We dug up the initial sketches (by Wes Louie who worked on the project) for the Chimera who resembled H.R. Giger's dark alien concepts."

fine..these look more cyberpunkish...

but those look cool nonetheless..wonder if XXXX shall return?

Panthers5419d ago

What needs to return is the Widowmaker. My favorite enemy from the first game just disappeared.

Still, cant wait for the next game. I loved the ending to R2 and am very excited to see what comes next.

OmarJA5419d ago

One of my best games of all time, too bad the campaign in the second wasn't as good as the first one but still fun.

Maddens Raiders5419d ago (Edited 5419d ago )

I agree with everything you said. The widowmakers and gray jacks were a couple of my favorites from RFOM - and yes the ending to R2 is so fkn cool. I loved playing throught R2 as much as I did R1. I still think about certain battles/situations in each, which is the true mark of a great game. Can't wait for R3.

Well, it's no surprise after all he stopped relying on gun at the end. But damn, was that a planet???

its always labeled as a poor man Gears of War and the second one was not even half as buggy as Gow

Nice5419d ago (Edited 5419d ago )

the game changed a lot in the second season, thats what caused all the problems....Have you played the first game though?

Gue15419d ago

For some reason I liked both but if I had to chose then it would be the first... I want the third to be more like the first than the second.

cryymoar5419d ago

i cant see how anyone with a pea-sized brain could call that a "poor man's GeOW" when it's more expensive to play.

ShinMaster5419d ago

What does Resistance have to do with Gears at all???

Resistance is a First-person shooter. Gears is a cover based third-person shooter.

They're 2 different games. They were released around the same time frame and are 'human vs aliens'games but that is about it.

compared to the second, even the story was more intense in the first...

281219865419d ago

with you on that one though I love the entire series feels a bit fresh than the monotonous Alien shooters set in the future...

BLuKhaos5419d ago (Edited 5419d ago )

I take it you two are the same person?

Giriath5419d ago

R1 definitely had the better single-player. The competitive multiplayer is much down to preference, I prefered the first's less arcadey gameplay, but the berserks and skirmish in R2 were good additions. R2's co-op was however very original and pretty well designed.

R2 was veeery ambitious and it got rushed to go up against the less ambitious GeoW 2. I have very high hopes for Resistance 3.

Nice5419d ago

I think "it" shall will serve as a huge setback if "it" does not will probably have superpowers now...

281219865419d ago

back and the narrator from the first game...wonder why they decided to omit that...I also feel they might just tie the PSP protagonist somehow with the third game

himdeel5419d ago (Edited 5419d ago )

...it kind of wouldn't have made sense to have her doing the same narration in the second game. Remember that she was for the most part recounting her personal interactions, second hand stories, and rumors about Nathan Hales actions in Europe.

Also since Nathan was a rounded up for the "secret" project/organization it stands to reason she wouldn't have any knowledge about his whereabouts after he disappeared from Europe. Finally the story is there in R2 but you have to deliberately go after it and find it throughout the campaign via itel, reading it for yourself. Unfortunately a lot of people didn't seem to appreciate this approach to telling the story.

The way the 2nd game ended they could do some crazy stuff with the 3rd game.

mastiffchild5419d ago

Posh English narrive girl was a miss for me as well in R2-which is a game that gets routinely knocked but I found just as much fun as any other FPS/shooter of this gen so far.

The huge online battles and co-op are done very well and if they can integrate more of a sidestory into it next time it would be nigh on perfect for me. Did find myself missing the womans dulcets on the second game and see plenty of ways to get her back into the action, story/story telling for number three!

OT the Chimera look badass in the games and evolved nicely from this stunning concept art into the varied nasties we know and ove to kill today. Sometimes I just wish Insomniac would allow themsleves more time to make Resistance even more special. The self imposed game a year policy might suit R&C(which, though amazing, insomniac can prolly doin their jim-jams if not quite in their sleep!)pretty well but I felt the first Resistance was rushed a bit for PS3 launch and R2 lacked just a little polish and could have used the extra six months most other devs would use.

Christ! Bioshock, RDR et al get put back and I'm advocating Insomniac take longer with their games! End off R2 does set up the third game nicely but I do not want to play as Capelli really-he seemed a bit grumpy to me! I suppose we might even see the oft-mooted action/rpg from the new Insomniac studio too whenwe get past the launch of the next Ratchet too! Hope so as I'd love a brand new IP fom these guys. Always seems like the best place to work in the world the way TP talks about his studios too!

100005419d ago

never got to where the first one went..

Nice5419d ago

the problem with the game wa that they removed too many things in order to progress the story, they removed a lot of Chimera species and bosses which were really cool...and dunno bout you guys but the Levithan battle was BOOOORRING!!!!

822119865419d ago

and could not somehow hold its ground...the first one was one of the better shooters that have been released on the PS3...
