OMG the 3 people that bought the 1st one will please

@Below, yeah that too

Gue15402d ago

I got really exited until I found it was for PsP... Man, what a disappointment.

Sega should eat a dik.

Alex_Mexico5402d ago

yo do know VC has sold more worldwide (close to 500,000) than the sequel to a million selling established franchise like Star Ocean 4?
All it takes is release the correct games on the correct console.

Snake Raiser5401d ago

This could be VC "2" it might not actually be the next main game. This could just mean that this will be the second game in the VC series. It might, might be a spin off.

Lets-Game5402d ago

most underrated and unappreciated rpg in 2008. visuals and gameplay are outstanding, its a shame people overlook this game. One of the best games I played last year.

LordMarius5402d ago (Edited 5402d ago )

I played the demo and wasnt impressed

Edit: For the PSP??.....Boo

JL5402d ago

@LetsGame
I agree, man. This game is amazing. I absolutely love it. One of the best games I played last year? Hell, one of the best games I've played this gen (probably comes in 2nd for me) and maybe one of the greater ones of all-time. It truly is a shame this game doesn't get more attention and is criminally overlooked.

@Marius
I played the demo and wasn't all that impressed either. I mean it wasn't bad, but it didn't strike me as a stand-out game either (other than the fact that the art/graphics were really good. However, after hearing so much praise, I eventually finally broke down and bought the game and I was NOT disappointed. I'd recommend not judging it on the demo and, if you get the chance, play the game. It truly is an amazing game.

RememberThe3575402d ago (Edited 5402d ago )

It's the games tutorial. The game itself is much more intricate and strategic.

I suppose I should have finished VC by now... Oh well. Everything in due time.

hulk_bash19875402d ago

Youre comment kind of threw me off, lol. You stated that you werent that impressed with the demo however are disappointed that its sequel is set for release on the PSP.

Anyways this game definitely deserves a sequel, one of my favorite RPGs this gen, just a little disappointed it would be coming to the PS3. However, it's still early so you never know.

behemothzero5402d ago

...but it really didn't do the game justice. Despite being bored by it, I still bought the game. Holy crap, it has to be one of the best games I've played on the PS3.

Seraphim5402d ago

It's definitely a shame people overlooked this one. I hear PS3 gamers crying about how there's no RPGs. Yet SO many neglected to pick this up. imo it's easily ONE of THE BEST RPGs I've ever played. It's absolutely brilliant and looks beautiful to boot. It's a shame they didn't patch it for trophies though. ;) that would have easily moved more copies amongst those fickle gamers who were on the edge. What an ugly industry of fellow gamers we have...

I'm kinda meh on this one though. Good. Portable, excellent title, competes w/ Disgaea as the best on the platform. Bad. Portable, graphics will pail in comparison to it's predecessor, possibly the price, and will it even see the light of day in NA? I'd imagine it will because sales did pick up once they dropped the price. Which is possibly why they're opting for a PSP version figuring that a cheaper price will make gamers more inclined to buy it out the gate...

mastiffchild5402d ago

Damn you Sega! Why do we have to go from the suptuous PS3 game to what will, inevitably, be an inferior sequel on PSP?

Because it didn't sell well enough on PS3? Well, I agree that people should have picked up VC as it's an incredible game but if you, Sega, put out sh1t demos people aren't going to buy your games no matter how good they may really be will they? Of course not. Everyone I know who didn't pick up the game was put off by the demo-and they're right to have been, I would had a mate not already bought it and told me to ignore the stupid demo.

While I'm on about Sega's demos being misleading wtf was the Sonic:Unleashed one about? If you thought the demo was indicative of the game you would have bought it thinking there was NO bloody awful Werehog let alone the fact it's nearly the whole game! Very cheeky only putting the good Sonic leggy, leggy bits on it, wasn't it? So that's crap demos for good games and great(but misleading) demos for crap games, great way to promote your wares Sega!

The bloody handhelds get all the jrpg love and VC was widely regarded as the best game of it's kind on the PS3 and is loved by 99% of those who actually played it and now they want to try and find an audience ina more cropwded market with what is to PSP a new IP? Why not a version for both at least?

This kick from Sega to the PS3 worries me that Yakuza3 just isn't going to come west at all--which is gutting. Maybe their Wii games being mature efforts that(Madworld and Overkill anyway)alsl failed to sell that well in the west may also have effected the decision here and theu hope to sell better on PSP, IDK but I'm very saddened by this news.

FantasyStar5402d ago

I disagree. VC is probably the most rated RPG this gen. The most underrated RPG this gen goes to Lost Odyssey. You hardly hear anyone talk about that game and it's judged unfairly because it uses old-school gameplay.

Trebius5402d ago

But not enough to warrant a purchase...

Now i'm definitely gonna buy it since everyone raves about it...

The gameplay didnt impress me much, but i'm sure the storyline will, since everyone seems to enjoy it.

ThanatosDMC5402d ago

Damn, i still havent finished this game because of Demon's Souls. Though i havent touched Demon's Souls since i dont want to get sucked up in it again.

Skywalker3335402d ago

Not on PSP!!! damn you! you better announce it on PS3, you better!

Valkyria Chronicles is my favorite game on PS3 and I can tell without doubt that it has the most beautifully woven story in this generation of console games...

Darn, i reaaally hope they change their mind and bring it, in some way or another, on PS3 cause i'm definitely not buying a psp just for this. cant play on handhelds these days.

Syronicus5402d ago

The game is a shining jewel. It's fun, creative, beautiful and makes for a great time when you have a burning desire to play an RPG. This one does not bog you down and make you feel bored at any time.

UltimateIdiot9115402d ago

Awesome, I wonder if there is an unlockable when connecting the 2 games together. I hope it's a prequel rather then a sequel, I feel that there is more to explain in a prequel like more details like Welkin's father and the old gentleman.

ultimolu5402d ago

Yep.

I'll gladly pick up the sequel for my PSP. :3

Knightrid8085402d ago

I agree VC was not appreciated for what an awsome SRPG it was. That game was the second one I've tried with the battle turn system but it was so well implemented that I've come to like it a lot. Its great that VC2 will come to the PSP since it has a big install base but I myself am not a portable gamer and I might miss this title.

FOXDIE5402d ago

the demo does not do the game justise, its much better than that!

menoyou5401d ago

Ok now I'm going to have to buy a PSP.

ravinash5401d ago

I also love this game.
I haven't played it all the way through yet, but I will be getting back into it again at some point.

I don't think I've heard anyone who has played the game (not the demo) say a bad thing about it.

If your thinking of getting this game....do it.
If your not....make sure you do!

BlackIceJoe5402d ago

Awesome news I loved Valkyria Chronicles and seeing as there will be a sequel is great. I can't wait to play this game.

JL5402d ago

Agreed. I felt like a giddy schoolgirl when I read that title. I've been seriously hoping for a sequel ever since I finished the game. I was a bit disappointed when I read that it's not PS3, but PSP instead. However, I'm lucky that my roommate does have a PSP (as I just don't see myself buying one), so it's still possible for me to play this. I can't wait. Valkyria Chronicles has been my second favorite game this gen (behind Uncharted).

kratos1235402d ago

i am doing my happy dans this is gonna be awsome wow 2010 ftw

Sonics0205402d ago (Edited 5402d ago )

PSP is turning into my favorite handheld. Can its lineup get any better?

Final Fantasy
Metal Gear Solid
Gran Turismo
Little Big Planet
Resident Evil
Grand Theft Auto
Kingdom Hearts
Tekken

and now Valkyria Chronicles!!! All in One year

raztad5402d ago (Edited 5402d ago )

OMG.

I'm so happy. My loved PSP is getting so much love. VC is so amazing, glad the PSP is getting it. It's a bit strange this game is the real sequel and not a spinoff, though.

BTW, Im replaying to you cause I didnt know GTA:CW got a PSP version, that is an incredible good news.

saint_john_paul_ii5402d ago

Dont forget:
Parasite Eve PSP
FF Agito XIII
Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep
and Soul Calibur PSP

mastiffchild5402d ago

PJP- By Parasite Eve PSP I'm guessing you mean The Third Birthday IIRC? I've been looking for new info on this game almost as much as I have for Wardevil(PS3) and with almost as little joy! I was starting to think it must, at least, have been put off for a while or even canned completely.

I do hope not esp as the trailer made it seem like a really good game. Plus, I like all the previous games.

Homicide5402d ago

I don't like the looks of it. My only gripe is that it won't be as fresh as the first.

The Best Games You Can't Officially Buy Anymore

From Xfire: "It's been estimated that roughly half of the video games ever released on the market can no longer be downloaded or purchased. Whether this is exactly correct is not the point. Rather, we think that either way, the video game industry, as a whole, has done a terrible job at preserving video games and making older titles available to play for future generations."

Terry_B1075d ago

You can play all of these games still lol. The headline is just misleading. Funny is that there is not one game in the list that you really can't play anymore due to it being online only games.

CorndogBurglar1075d ago (Edited 1075d ago )

Its not about games you can't play. Its about games you can't officially buy anywhere.

Terry_B1075d ago

The author changed it actually

Army_of_Darkness1074d ago

Who needs to buy these games anyway? Most of them are average at best and won't really be missed.

littletad1075d ago (Edited 1075d ago )

It says buy, not play though. You can't purchase Deadpool or the Simpsons game anymore. Unless you have a 360 for the simpsons or a physical copy of deadpool, or purchased it before it was delisted.

shuvam091075d ago

Look at his comment. It's from 9 hours ago. Article goes back 4 hours. Title might have been changed after realising the mistake

isarai1075d ago

One you actually legit cannot play AT ALL is Noby Noby Boy. I miss turning my brain off and messing around in that game, was so psyched to re-download it when i rebought a ps3 slim, but you cant, even if it's in your downl library, along with a few other obscure PS3 games i had.

NecrumOddBoy1075d ago

The original memes to the moon game. Loved NNB on PS3.

FreeckyCake1075d ago

I would replace Transformers Devastation with War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron tho.

Knightofelemia1075d ago (Edited 1075d ago )

Transformers Devastation was good but not as good as Fall and War of Cybertron they should be on the list. SH 2 I can play any time I want since it came free in a $10 Xbox I bought used. The Simpsons Arcade I have on my PS3 surprised the Xmen Arcade game is not on this list or the Turtles arcade game either.

CorndogBurglar1075d ago

I had the X-Men arcade game on my 360. I don't know if Xbox Live is still a thing or not, and of it is, I don't know of they still sell X-Men. But it was deinitely on Xbox Live at some point.

Knightofelemia1075d ago (Edited 1075d ago )

If you had X-Men before you can redownload it from your transaction history on the 360 Microsoft did not castrate the 360 from online. That is how I was able to redownload the old TMNT arcade game to my 360 you can't play it on XB1 or Series X but you can still access it for sure on the 360.

7 JRPGs With a School Setting If You're Feeling Fire Emblem: Three Houses

Twinfinite Writes: With Fire Emblem Three Houses the series takes its first leap into a school life game, but there are other great JRPGs out there with a school setting.

Currently playing through Trails in the Sky SC, after spending 60 hours finishing the first. I want to jump into Trails of Cold Steel, but was told by several people that it's better to play the previous games first.

Positivelypositive 1732d ago

Trails of cold steel is great to jump right into. You won't feel like you missed anything. I am sure there is more to get out of the 3rd and 4th TOTS games but I don't see any reason to wait to play Steel.

DarkZane1732d ago

There are some mentions of events in Trails in the Sky in the first 2 trails of cold steel, but not much. You should definitely play Trails in the Sky completely before Trails of Cold Steel 3 and 4 (which are yet to be released), because there are characters from that series in those games.

You might also want to play Trails of Zero and Azure, which are the 2 unlocalized games. There are translation patches for them out there that are 100% done.

bluefox7551732d ago (Edited 1732d ago )

Interesting, thanks for the tip. I heard TITS 2 was the best one in that series, so I think I'll still finish it. Depending on the ending though, I may jump into TOCS after, mainly because the gameplay looks way better, and obviously the visuals as well. The TITS combat is a little shallow IMO.

Outlawzz1732d ago

Cold steel 1 was my first trails game. There were certain parts where I could tell they were referencing previous games but other than that it was a complete and separate story. It was great and I never felt like I missed out on anything just small mentions of other events.

Teflon021732d ago

doesn't matter which you play first as the games directly involving the story of Sky aren't even all released here to even worry about order. You'll miss alot of references no matter which way you look at it. Just play which ever ones you want in any order as long as 1s before 2. They're self contained stories by name for the most part.

AnnaDea1732d ago

Finished Cold Steel II today.

I have some time now to finish the Crossbell games before Cold Steel III arrives in late October. I can't sing enough praise for the Legend of Heroes series. I have only beaten Sky FC a little earlier and gonna play SC soon too. I feel sorry for the fans of jrpgs that misses this hidden gem of a series.

I have been a great fan of Nihon Falcom since the elary 90's. One of the strongest japanese developers out there. But and support their games Kreygasm.

How Does Fire Emblem: Three Houses Stack Up Against Other Games With School Settings?

So how does Fire Emblem: Three Houses compare? Well, it doesn't offer the agency of Bully, but it does feel more expansive than Persona, even if the choices you have to make aren't quite as interesting. Its strength is in how well-realized and expansion it all feels, its calendar peppered with a multitude of fun events like feasts and dance festivals. Where Valkyria Chronicles 2's academy feels like a series of rote menus, Three Houses' setting feels fully integrated into the gameplay and story.
