Wiiloveit.com: I Heart Geeks - DS Review

"When I was a kid, I was really into those nifty marble tracks where you could set up your own little contraption and basically have fun for hours at a time. Call me easily amused, but when I discovered I could then use those same marbles to trigger a separate sequence of events -- like knocking over a string of dominoes -- the little scientist in me really started to come out. Pretty soon I would move on to balloon inflation experiments using baking soda, vinegar, and 2L pop bottles. Games like I Heart Geeks attempt to draw upon this appeal of satisfying experimentation, with the end result theoretically spurring you on further to tweak and re-apply what you learn. GotGame: Review - I Heart Geeks

GotGame: I Heart Geeks is something quite unexpected for something that you would associate with Marc Ecko. In this imaginative puzzle game on the Nintendo DS, you are of course a nerdy geek that is going through the growing pains of high school. The jocks haven’t taken too kindly to you and your friends, so it will be up to you and geeky friends to go to your club and learn how to teach these bullies a lesson, a hard lesson in physics.

The game seems fun at first but fails to do one thing: become different. After finishing all the missions, I felt as if I hadn’t done anything other than popped over a dozen balloons and started an uncountable number of steam engines. I Heart Geeks has its glowing characteristics, but there are some issues that hinder its overall appeal.
