PlayStation 3 gamers have been disgruntled with the console's downloadable game release schedules and prices for some time, and justifiably so: promised dates for major titles like Fat Princess have slipped without explanation and the cost of some games (albeit ones mainly from third parties) have been disproportionate and poorly balanced. Thankfully, EA, alongside developers DICE, have come along and shown everybody else how digital only game releases should be handled. From the constant flow of information from the official Twitter feed via nicely spaced demonstrations and press events right through to keeping the release date under wraps until everything was absolutely locked into place covering and following Battlefield 1943 has been a pleasure. Getting our hands dirty with the final code yesterday capped everything off.
EA has recently released their 2009 Q4 and 2010 Q1 fiscal reports and the information provided has made Battlefield 1943 the best selling download only game on consoles to date.
That Dice focuses more on the BC and regular Battlefield series on the PC. Loved 1943, but loved BC2 and BF2142 much more.
New maps are what I need. This game is a beast and totally deserves the achievement.
Good to see their success.
But I found it interesting that it said:
"...along with EA becoming the #1 publisher on every platform except for Nintendo platforms. EA is the #1 third party publisher on those platforms however."
I guess that means that they took back the spot from activision? I guess thats good as Dead Space made me like EA enough, and Im not a big fan of activision lately. Take that KOtic.
kinda stopped playing after i picked up bad company 2. maybe i should hop back on if people are still playing.
Here's a very good video (if we do say so ourselves) showing off what I believe to be the 10 best games on the PlayStation Store at the moment. Enjoy!
DICE, an Electronic Arts Inc studio, today announced that Battlefield 1943 is the fastest game to reach 1M units sold on Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.
