IGN: Head-To-Head: Ghostbusters

The Head-to-Head is designed to let gamers know which version of a multiplatform game is worth their hard-earned money. IGN breaks down each segment of a game and then tells you which platform reigns supreme when the dust settles.

Where we going? This shouldn't be a shocking or surprising result anymore.

TheDeadMetalhead5408d ago

With everything. The fanboys, the 500+*, and the "360 version is ALWAYS better" comments.

Blaze9295408d ago

I find it funny to find comments like yours for articles like this becuase no one asked you click on this submission and then actually take the time out to comment. Don't like them and tired of them why are you still paying attention to them?

Anyway, a little late to the party IGN? I think we all know the results of Ghostbusters by now.

Traveler5408d ago

The biggest gap is between the consoles and the PC. The 360 version looks closer to the PS3 version than to the PC version.

TheDeadMetalhead5408d ago

I never said I didn't find parts of it amusing, now did I? ;o

enviable275408d ago (Edited 5408d ago )

So did Killzone 2 ; )

No surprise which version won but even over the PC version. BAM! there it is!

ElementX5408d ago

The 360 version IS sharper, however I bought it for PS3 since that's all I own

XboxUltimateAlliance5408d ago (Edited 5408d ago )

At least you're honest and not in denial like many.

jack_burt0n5408d ago

What i find odd is no one mentions the six axis control!? In non serious casual games i could seeing it being a decent way to wrangle and fun?

Also its the ps3 version he ended up getting for trophies lol

Blaze9295408d ago (Edited 5408d ago )

No one mentions it becuase honestly who even REMEMBERS it? Even the biggest of PS3 fanboys can admit the Sixaxis was a dumb idea that failed. Warhawk was the game to me that used it best and I remember back when the sixaxis was announced and showing Warhawk, I wanted the game JUST to try out the feature.

I was so excited for it. Finally get my PS3 and the game, turns out it sucks. Go figure. I've yet to see a game put it to good use and not just some tacked on feature where simple buttons could've done the trick.

coolfool5408d ago

I actually think Flower was the best use of sixaxis. The idea of using movement to control the game rather than button presses fits the games ethos so well. It just feels more natural.

TheDeadMetalhead5408d ago

Grand Theft Auto IV used it quite well.

Perjoss5408d ago

i had lots of fun shooting arrows with six axis in heavenly sword, but i hated it in motorstorm. Not tried it in many other games. I dont think six axis is a failure, devs are just not implementing it right.

himdeel5408d ago (Edited 5408d ago )

...I don't think the sixaxis is a failure. Games like Heavenly Sword, MGS4, Uncharted, Killzone 2, Siren:BC, LBP, inFamous, Flower, GTA4, Folklore and others use the sixaxis wonderfully. I even like it in Lair. It's basically just another button or 3D faux analog stick. When implemented sensibly it's awesome when tacked on to a games mechanics it reeks.

Blaze9295408d ago

"not just some tacked on feature where simple buttons could've done the trick. "

Jack Klugman5408d ago

"Well, let the fanboy flogging begin, I'm picking the Xbox 360 version as the superior Ghostbusters game. "

thats even over the pc version. 360 is simply the best hd console when it comes to multiplatform and which makes up most of the games that are released this gen.

vx5408d ago

da xobts is better dan da ps3 for diz game, however da game almost sucks anyway,, doesn't matter anywayz

Snake Raiser5408d ago

Well xbox fanboys....I guess we have to give this one to you.
"impressive........most impressive"

On another note I don't see how the PS3, wii, or xbox 360 version beats the PC version, but ok.

starchild5408d ago

They don't beat it. It's clear from the pictures, and just common knowledge, that the PC version beats the other versions hands down. The author confirmed this when he said "Obviously, the graphics are the sharpest and the game smoothest on the PC". But Greg Miller is apparently an idiot and somehow decided to rate the other versions higher, despite his clear description of the PC version's superiority.

That's why I hate IGN head to heads. They are just so random and arbitrary. I much prefer the more technical and objective analyses done by other sites.

TheDeadMetalhead5408d ago

He didn't give the win to the PC version because it doesn't have any multiplayer. Graphics aren't everything, you know.

Review - Ghostbuster The Video Game Remastered (Switch) | WayTooManyGames

WTMG's Todd Eggleston: "Ghostbusters The Video Game is nostalgia done right, and puts you right back in 1984. It isn’t a masterpiece of a game, and neither was the movie, but it reminds us again that it is ok for entertainment to just be entertaining. It is a game that deserves to be remastered and remembered. And 35 years later, it also serves to remind us that a remaster doesn’t always need to be Fall Out Boy and Missy Elliott. Sometimes, Ray Parker Jr. is exactly who you need to call."
