U-WARS revealed for Xbox 360, PC and PSP

BIART announced today that it's developing U-WARS for Xbox 360, PC and PSP. The game has been in development since 2007 and will hit retail stores in mid 2010.

Yes it is.I heard about this game in 07 when it was shown only as a tech demo.Found a recent footage of it on you tube and it looks promising.Fast forward to the 3:43 mark to see some game footage.

I'd really like them to change the name of the game though. U-Wars or Underwater Wars sounds lame to me. I suggest Warfare Submerged or Combat Submerged to trick some of the Halo fans into thinking it's an underwater Halo game.

Holy...
...cow! This dev kinda came outta nowhere (aka Russia).

And their games look stunning. This one looks like it has a nice atmosphere and Spearfishing looks incredible. I hope they can pull off a decent game.

nice gfx, i hope the controls are good too, then this may become the first good underwater game featuring a human.
So far the only good one featured a dolphin.

Pizzagaki5416d ago

that game was underwater indeed :)
But this game is in the water :D.

NowGamer: U-Wars Preview

A few issues back games took a look at Hydrophobia, the upcoming water-based action-adventure from newly formed studio Dark Energy Digital. Its focus is on allowing water to run free within the game's environments, utilising it as an element that can be advantageous to the player as a tool in their arsenal, or a destructive force that can easily overcome those that don't mind its power.

Hydrophobia isn't out until next year, but it's already shaping up to be something different at the very least; the utmost effort put into making each torrent of water or subtle ripple as convincing and lifelike as possible. U-Wars – a contraction that stands for the rather unimaginative Underwater Wars – is similarly making water its focal feature. However, while Dark Energy Digital has looked for new ways to make water a challenging game design element and complex puzzle-solving tool, Russian Studio Biart has done little other than use it as a flimsy excuse for originality.
