The Electronic Farmyard Review: Light of Altair

Mike takes a look back at the Indie classic Light of Altair.

A lot of strategy games are based around military strategy or tactics, but Light of Altair tends to focus more on economic management and keeping your colonists happy. Think more “Anno” or “The Guild” rather than “Sins of a Solar Empire” or “Age of Empires’. Each mission puts you in competition with one or more differing factions, sometimes with an ally, sometimes ganged up on, with the each level successfully being more difficult than the last. The learning curve is low, making it an easy to learn, hard to master kind of game.
