Greenberg: MS E3 was "historic" - Sony did a "good job" too

VG247: Xbox 360 product boss Aaron Greenberg has said he believes Microsoft's E3 performance was nothing short of "historic." He also revealed that he owns a PS3, plays games on it and reckons Sony did a "good job" in LA earlier this month.

lol. ok.
Im Glad Greenburg enjoyed his press conference.

Next Up:
Jack Tretton: Sony E3 was 'Epic'. MS 'succeeded' in entertaing its croud.

Miyo: Wii still on top biatches! Sony n MS just dream of being up here with Miiii.

lol
I dont like articles which PIN POINT a certain thing in an interview -.- stupid fanboys will rush to give it hits

Zedux5432d ago (Edited 5432d ago )

There are 2 parties that wants to see a PS3 price drop and they are the poor and Microsoft! Yes Microsoft needs a PS3 price drop otherwise Sony will come out stronger this generation with much more revenue and end profit much higher than Microsoft. M$ believed a 360 price drop would had induced Sony to cut the price too making Sony loose lots of money but they didn't and surprised MS! Sony is lacking behind only in the US and once they drop the price the PS3 will sell like hot cakes and MS is desperate for Sony dropping the price very soon otherwise when they do it will be ALL profit for Sony which means stronger PlayStation brand!

eh no! the playstation brand is already strong. they are NOT making anything off of the price of the hardware. AND ARE STILL LOSING MONEY ON EACH CONSOLE SOLD!!!

ZEDUX, reading your post its quite clear that your either young, or really stupid. but i'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say that you are young.

gaffyh5432d ago

@1.3 - Actually they are probably pretty much making the PS3 for the same price it costs now. Shows how worth buying PS3 is really, even when it launched $599 for hardware that was worth $800+ completely worth it.

And there you have it.

Haha who feels stupid now huh.

In fact, Sony's E3 was SOOO GOOODDDD and jawdropping that Im going to watch it again this afternoon just for the kicks.

I was really happy with MSFT's press conference, a whole lot better than last years and better than Sony's.

It just seems like MSFT work harder on the 360 than Sony on the PS3.

And MSFT always have the surprise factor with them. I mean announcing Forza 3 and releasing it 5 months afterwards is just crazy especially when you see the quality of the game.

Same goes for Splinter Cell Conviction, they scrapped and havnt said anything about it until 6 months from release and who would have even guessed that L4D2 was on the way ?

Really have to congratulate MSFT for the 360, the strategy they drew up for it and its evolution through the years. Especially since the XBOX was for from being a success last gen.

Syronicus5432d ago

Why is it that MS feels the need to rip ont he competition so much? If they are so confident in their sales and hardware/games, then why not let the good speak for themselves?

anh_duong5431d ago

La Chance, no disrepect but after looking at your post history I think if MS had announced a huge steaming turd at E3 you would have lapped it up.

Anyways, this goes to show that Greenberg is someone I can respect because he puts games before fanboyism. This is what gaming is all about!

deeznuts5431d ago (Edited 5431d ago )

After years of hearing his mother call him handsome, smart and athletic, Greenberg learned the trait of "embellishing" descriptions of your child.

Same for Kim Jong Il.

Jaces5431d ago (Edited 5431d ago )

What was historic about it again....?

Oh you mean the technology that will revolutionize the gaming industry as we know it?

....When I see it do what MS promises then I'll believe it, but for now all I saw was a puppeted demoing of someone "interacting" with a virtual girl.

There are other hardware that is historic too:virtual boy,eye toy, sega cd, 3DO, and sega 32X. Doesn't mean that it still doesn't suck. And yes natal is a revoloutionary step. A step where peripherals that play one genre (plastic guitars that cost 40 $') all deserve to be burned. Peripherals should have at least could play any genre instead of only 5 casual games.

gaffyh5432d ago

You know what, I'm gonna give you bubbles for having the courage to say what everyone else has wanted to say, but not had the guts.

edhe5432d ago

Your point is absurd. The very purpose of natal is that it can contribute to any game, it's not just a peripheral, it's an interface.

So no, it's not like your previous examples.

TresTrendu5432d ago

Bubble up, for putting idiots fanboys in their place.

really duh5431d ago (Edited 5431d ago )

He says the same thing in all articles related to Natal. He goes in them all and says the same thing. I TALKING SEEKING NATAL OUT TO SAY IT SUCKS.

This is not news he said he owned a PS3 months ago. The TGS talk is much more interesting in the Major Nelson podcast this info came from.

TheReaper425431d ago (Edited 5431d ago )

So.. what's the difference between natal and eyetoy?.. Besides someone running across the room and yelling GOOD NIGHT and turning it off. Would suck if you're watching a movie and someone pulled off that stunt. My opinion is based on the presentation they gave. I'm not going to talk about which is more accurate since I haven't tried natal yet. Revolutionary? i think not.

Sarick5431d ago (Edited 5431d ago )

If anyone had tried to use the speech recognition system in windows they'd know it's not a simple feature to use.

I tried this revolutionary speech recognition feature in windows vista and became so frustrated that I quit using it. Sure this looks good in the demos but in reality some things like speech recognition and motion controls are so limited that their learning curves are often higher then using a controller or remote.

This is why I stopped using my Wii as the motion controllers became more of an annoyance then a feature.

This little chubby bastard is starting to piss me off, I know that he's employed by Microsoft and, by definition, is getting paid for hyping their products and not the competition's, but he always sounds so arrogant and condescending.

Business doesn't always have to be like that.

WildArmed5432d ago

But it was like that b4 too.

Right now: Wii has bragging rights, so MS need to kewl down.

Sony was first so they had bragging rights (till this gen)

(sales ofc)

everything else is just an opinion

Salvadore5432d ago

How is he arrogant or condescending if he acknowlegdes Sony's briefing as being good? fill me in because I don't understand. He works for Microsoft, but is yet willing to praise Sony instead of going ape-sh*t.

mastiffchild5432d ago

Well, as I see it Kareem, and I'm sure you know Greenberg's MO(though he's by no means the only one like it in the industry)well enough by now, Aaron is a very antagonistic chap. That he gives (feint) praise here to Sony can be seen as a back handed compliment at best as it only serves to highlight his "historic" view of MS and their showing by comparison.

In fairness this is much more subtle than his usual methods(which usually include twisting NPD data and ignoring Japan and the EU as much as possible) but his gify for overstating things remains unchecked.

To me he's a bit of a cartoon figure(in that I can't take him too seriously because of his naked bias)but, I guess, MS feel he's doing his job otherwise they wouldn't pay the guy. People have also said that it isn't his job to appeal to PS3 gamers but I don't get that as surely he should also be trying to convince them to join his team and idk if the way he does things is the best way to get that done.

That said, after the T10 Greenawalt arrogance the other week, maybe the abrasive approach is one we'll be seeing more of from devs and execs alike-I much prefer a gentler, more subtle way of doing things myself but, hey, what do I know?

Syronicus5432d ago

What Aaron Greenturd is doing here is called a back handed comment. A rather small but hideous slam that always show one-upmanship on MS's part. Its sad really since he should be relying ont he hardware and games to do the talking and keep his mouth shut or at least more professional.

What was so historic about it, anyways?

Natal? Haha

ExgamerLegends25432d ago

I dont think I trust the new positive aaron greenberg. hmmm.

He's right though. this was MS's best conference. Sony's was still better. I still watch it on my ps3 just to hear that joke about the industry's ability to keep a secret LOL. Tretton's an awesome speaker.

Former Dragon Age lead writer David Gaider pours scorn on EA's AI dreams.

"They want you to believe the devs under them are super stoked to work generative AI into their processes," continued Gaider, "but I assure you what they took as excitement was really a veiled wail of despair not unlike the time that team was informed of their new 'really cool' live service mandate.".
