Pocket Gamer: Jonas Hands-On

There are 6 levels or episodes, each of which is split into two elements: wandering around the town where the Jonas' live, completing tasks and the like, before ending with you completing a guitar-based rhythm-action mini-game. All of the songs are new for the game and once you've unlocked them, you'll be able play them on request.

As with the Guitar Hero games, the rhythm-action part works as notes drop down the DS screen onto your guitar, spread across four columns. What you have to do is select the correct column using the D-pad - there's one column for each direction, up, down, left and right. Then with your stylus, you have to strum on the guitar's string area when the falling note passes through.

IGN: Jonas Review

Ultimately Jonas is just boring. The levels are repetitive hallways, the mini-games aren't challenging or engaging, and there are only a few songs in it, with a weak rhythm game attachment. There are a ton of Jonas Brothers related gifts you could be getting for that tween girl on your list, but Jonas should not be one of them.

Presentation - 3.5
Graphics - 5.5
Sound - 4.5
Gameplay - 4.0
Lasting Appeal - 5.0

Crispy Gamer: Disney Jonas Review

Crispy Gamer writes: "The last Jonas Brothers song I heard -- well, the first Jonas Brothers song I heard -- was when I loaded Disney Jonas on my DS. While three creepy cartoon teens stared at me from the screen, an able up-tempo pop ditty asked me if I was "ready to rock and roll." Apparently I was supposed to "bust my move" because everyone was "in the groove."

I am sure this is supposed to make me feel hopelessly old and out of touch with the new generation. But frankly, it just made more curious."
