Guitar Hero 2 X360 Downloadable Songs...

The first batch of downloadable songs for the Xbox 360 version of Guitar Hero 2, will feature 8 songs from the first game. Those songs? :

Motorhead - Ace Of Spades
Ozzy Osbourne - Bark at The Moon
The Exies - Hey You
Edgar Winter Group - Frankenstein
Queen - Killer Queen
The Donnas - Take It Off
Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Higher Ground
Bad Religion - Infected
Incubus - Stellar

Whether or not all 8 make it up at the same time is still being set up, the packs will retail for ~150 points a piece, but rumors of tiered packs are out there.

Both the PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360 versions of Guitar Hero II feature the same core 64 playable songs. Hardly a rip off. This is extra content that PS2 gamers will never get. Magic of xbox live.

Dang, Bladestar your description of that magic act is like straight out of the Prestige. So true though. I like the idea of downloading the songs from GH to the 360 to play on GHII. Its only good business and I will download them too. Nothing up my sleeve. Presto chango! Abracadabra! POOF! My microsoft points just disappeared.

Red Octane pisses me off now.

First, it's 9 songs, not 8.

They were released to the XBL Marketplace in 3 song packs for 500 msp points each, not 150 (so $6.25).

That's $2.08 per song.

Add it up, if you wanted the original songs when they are finally released you are going to be paying alot more than the original game cost.

I could see paying $1.00 per song. Or maybe $2.00 per song as individual releases and then a discounted song pack.

But this is ridiculous.

It's not worth it. The price point is absurd.

Add it up. There were 30 songs (not including bonus tracks) in GH1. At $2.083 per song, that's $62.50 approx for all of them.

The game retails at $40 and even if you include the $10 increase for 360 next gen titles, that's still $12.50 over what you'd pay for the original full game if it were out on the 360.

If you through in the bonus tracks and use the same price model, it's $48 over the original game's price point.

Red Octane is giving us all the huge shaft. The price is way too high, and they are going to force gamers to pay for songs they don't want by packaging them with mediocre tracks from the first game. It's like when Walmart tries to package Happy Gilmore with Little Nicky for $20. I didn't fall for it then, and I won't now.

It's bad enough that I pay for my online connectivity with the Xbox 360... now I have to over pay for everything that becomes available as downloadable content...

That and because I live in Canada I don't have access to half of the stuff that other folks do... why do I keep this fricking box around...

Your right, no one has to buy the songs. And yea, you can pick the packs you want and don't want.

The problem is, they are putting 1 good song in, with 2 bad songs (or some combination of good and bad).

So you are paying $6.25 to get maybe 1 or 2 good songs.

No you don't have to buy it. But it's still an unfair price point for the content.

Lumines Live was released with a high price point and people bought it only to find out that alot of what was expected was missing and they complained. As such, they released additional content for it at a reduced price point to try to make up for it.

Gears of War is supposed to be releasing a map pack at a cost. But they are going to release it free in the future.

Yea, no one has to buy it, and if people don't it may cause them to rethink their price point and adjust it. The point is, the price is too high for what it is.

If they released the songs individually, I'd have less of a problem with it. But they are purposely grouping them in 3's to force people to pay for a song they don't want in order to get a song they want.

As I said, I will not be buying it until they stop being greedy little b#tches and sell them for a price more accurate to their value.

These are all old songs done by cover artists for an old game. They should not cost more than buying each song individually from the original artists plus adjustments for costs to convert it.

Add it up man. 47 songs in Guitar Hero * $2.08 per song. That's $98. Yea you don't have to buy a pack if you don't like the songs in it. But what if you like 2 of the 3 songs? Should you have to pay for that third one if you want the other 2? You don't have to, but they aren't giving you the option of getting just the songs you want.

I'd pay $6 for that song.
