Agree with score. I would give it 7.5 MAX. Its good but it gets really repeititive.

Proof I have game is attached. Like always I only talk after I played the game. I cannot show you in game screen shot with N4G Window Open for sthe simple reason Prototype does not Support Window Mode on PC (WTF!! I love playing my games in WINDOW Mode!)

I've previously been on the record as saying this game was fun, BUT, for all of 5 minutes. The more I've played of the game, the more the game's shortcomings are magnified. The story and characters are forgettable; how the story unfolds is anticlimactic and pedestrian; cut scenes are underwhelming and barely crawls the story along; the game's graphics and presentation are bland and lack polish; the missions are repetitive and side quests and mini games uninspired. When you control Alex you're in awe of how fluid he moves, his cool powers and the depth of the game's upgrade and combo system but it's packaged into such a mediocre game, it's hard to enjoy it for long. It's unfortunate because I really had high hopes for this game.

I agree with the review too.. and i keep repeating that phrase from IGN's review.. it all sounded good on paper.. but when you play it you realise it isn't all that great.

Infamous and Prototype are two different games and I wished people would stop comparing the two. That said, in terms of presentation, Infamous is a better product but the two games have such different gameplay focuses, I don't see how you can compare the two.

Oh wait, it's because I have. Anyone remember a little game called "Hulk: Ultimate Destruction"?! It plays, looks, and feels EXACTLY like that game! Just about every move in that game is an exact pull from the Hulk game, even down to the "critical mass", which ironically that is what it also was called when Hulk went into super-pissed-off mode.

They're both made by Activision. So yeah, this game is offically Ultimate Destruction with new characters models and updated textures.

While it doesn't make it necessarily any less fun, it just lowers my respect for Activision. Way to port, people.

EDIT: It's offical, the same team that worked on Ultimate Destruction also worked on this game. The similarities are just too much. Like I said, it's still a fun game, but with it technically just being UD with a new coat of paint, it shouldn't have taken this long to come out.

Radical Entertainment made both Hulk: UD and Prototype, Not Acitivison. What does it matter if they took some moves from one of their own title? Besides its a great title and I know you're BS'ing because I've beaten both Prototype and Hulk: UD and Prototype has a majority of things you could not do in Hulk:UD.

I guess every other FPS is the same so why bother playing it am I rite?

Granted, they weren't owned by Activision when they made UD, but that's not the point I'm trying to make. The point is that It's basically UD with new models, new moves and a different story, other than that, the gameplay and control is 100% the same.

Hmmm!!!! not looking good for Prototype. Radical really should have gone first before Infamous. It is a tough act to follow.

Oh, not that again. So, they come out close together and have blokes finding they have super powers but those apart the games diverge totally from then on and play completely differently.

I've enjoyed both games(and Holk UD -the similarities are undoubtedly there but to call it a clone when they just took the very best bits then added a lot to them is a bit off, imo)and while inFAMOUS felt more polished and, to me , had more replay value I think the fact that they have very different feels to them means they'll appeal more to slightly different crowds. P'type is more of a bloodrish,barnstormer type game-balls out killing for kicks and the memories showing the story is a good touch too.

So, while inFAMOUS is more accomplished in many ways I can totally see why some might prefer P'type so the continued comparisons are cloying and don't help either game to be honest.

I also feel that the scores of P'type being over a wider range show that it's a love it or hate it game for many which, again, isn't really a bad thing. I'm all for variety and these games show there's more than one way of skinning an open world super hero.

After mixed reviews I decided to rent this game.

Was very disappointed, graphics are bland (very unpolished) and the gameplay is frustrating.

I tried to give it a chance as I hated Far Cry 2 initially but ended up loving that game. This wasnt the case for PType.

After a total of 5 hours of play across two playing slots I went back to playing Infamous. Which felt even better after playing Prototype!

proto type is no where near infamous,playing alex is very tiresome,run up buildings,take identity,collect green dots in x amount of seconds for g,s,b awards,take out helicopters,pick up weapons,hit people when going down street even when you try not to,switch between powers from circle using r stick,then the graphics of ps2 low range to boot.the lock on system goes into a f@ck which one should i lock on to moments all the time.infamous is so much more organize got the platinum,a little tip for the boss on evil hard r2 is your best friend.proto type so far is £37.71 asda price waste of my money so far but i will give it two more sitting it just lacks the quality of infamous in every department,one thing you will like is the cut scences,but the game itself is a serious hard slog at the moment.if you have infamous this is not going to be for you i,m giving it a 5/10 and i,m serious.

The only downfall was the graphics but there are a lot of options and powers to choose from. Plus watching Alex consume people was pretty cool too.

It's a good distraction, probably not totally worth $60 bucks. I've spent most of my time with it completely ignoring the missions and just wreaking havoc. Not bad, but could have used a little more work.
