I just watched the review. I thought it was spot on. Reviews for this game have been up and down. Some glowing, some mediocre. Having played the game myself, I can tell you that the game is an amazing experience. The story is forgettable, the graphics bland and missions are repetitive but you'll never play a character with such versatile powers as Alex's and it's just pure fun.

The most important quality you can have in a video game is fun.
I have yet to play either Infamous or Prototype. U2's beta takes up what little gaming time I have right now but I eventually will play them both.

I would give it a 10 just for the fun factor it has. You have movement capabilities Spiderman could only dream of, it is so much fun just running through the city or simply climbing the highest building. Sure it has it's downsides but I'd say it redefines free roaming.

Professional reviewers can't ignore the downsides, but as a gamer, I'd say Prototype is worth every cent.

Have yet to play Infamous so I can't say anything about it.

I have em both and their BOTH incredible games. I personally prefer Prototype because of the fast pace and Alex's powers are second to none.
i recommend getting them both if u have a PS3.

LOL, I can't believe how people who haven't played both games are automatically declaring INFAMOUS as "better" than Prototype because 4 TENTHS OF A POINT higher really makes it that much of a better game(sarcasm). Play the both games first...THEN give ur opinion.

I think they're fine. There are like up to 100 characters and 50 cars on-screen at once which is pretty nice for an open-world game.

That is the exact same thing I said when I played InFamous, but you have to remember the amount of crap going on around you. I will take a slight dip in the graphics dept. any day if it makes me feel submersed in my surroundings. I've yet to play Prototype but it looks pretty cool. I'll wait till it goes on sale, I already pre-ordered Ghostbusters so I don't have the money right now.

I played it at my friends house, and honestly I was disgusted with the graphics. Everything is plain, looks the same, not enough variety in vehicles, lacking color pallet, and the textures look like they came straight out of a Ps2 game. Sure there's a ton going on, but honestly it was a mess, and too chaotic with pedestrians running around all over the place like chickens with their heads cut off.

Assassins creed looks ten-thousand times better and at times, has a lot going on on screen. Why does this game look worse than some ps2 games? Because there is a lot on screen? I didnt pay three and a half grand for my TV for that p!ss poor excuse

AC isn`t exactly a sandbox game, it has a hefty load right before each section. It`s a bit different.

the area's are still massive. jerusalem, the entire middle section which you travel from place to place.

Prototype is so much more fun than inFAMOUS. I'm not saying inFAMOUS wasn't a blast to play through, but I enjoy Prototype much much more because of the insane amount of violence, the amount of pedestrians on screen running in terror for their lives, and the amount of insane upgrades that don't require power regeneration to use repeatedly. Both games are worthy of a purchase in my opinion.

While playing both, and putting more than half of the games progression, I can say that both games deserve to be played and enjoyed. The saying goes is like apples and oranges, for me, infamous is a realistic detailed super-hero game that has to be thought out to play in open world structure, and prototype is just a pick up and slash and gore everyone gameplay, which I enjoy alottttt!!!!! So to those who battle which game is better, just decide for yourself of either renting them or buying them to see.....

The gameplay reminds me of The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. They both share a lot similarities gameplay wise.

Ultimate Destruction was great on the Xbox

However, after playing Spiderman: Web of Shadows and Prototype only a few months apart I can't help but feel I'm playing almost the same game: cut and paste environment, awesome moves, lame cutscenes, lame enemies, incredibly repetitious gameplay, both worlds get covered in ooze with zombie like enemies and trigger happy military.

Yeah, Hulk wasn't much different, but I never had to take a break from it because I felt bored and underwhelmed.

Also, I'm so sick with pools of silly looking blood that burst out of people who show no signs of infliction after you take one swing at them. It just looks sloppy and juvenile.

I played inFamous as soon as it came out, and it was amazing, Cole fit his role perfect for the dark story that I took. But after I beat it that was about it, I didn't really feel like running around and just doing what I want. (Especially since I did all the side missions before beating the game.)

Then I played Prototype, now lemme tell you, you have to be really paying attention to get the story, it's a very intricate way they send it at you. But still, the story was not as in depth like InFamous. I still feel like I'm missing information about what really happened.

But Alex Mercer has to be one of the most badass characters ever. I've never has so much satisfaction from ripping ppl in half and just causing pure destruction. And when the heat gets to hot, he has the perfect way to escape. Running up walls with ease and gliding away from all his opposition. But its totally unnecessary as you own the crap out of everything in the game.

I can still go play prototype and still have a blast I'm sure.

Just play both, cause both are well worth it xD.

Saying the game is bad is probably a bit harsh.. but like i said, i'm still mad at myself for running out to buy this game.

Its fun to just run around and smash things.. for about 10 minutes and there has been only one mission i have enjoyed so far.. which was just because it looked really good...

Had to chase one of those hunter things through the streets and since i have all my running and jumping powers to the max it looked pretty good.

inFamous has got 9+ from most big sites. Prototype has got 9- and even a 7.5 from IGN. That says it all.

Listen, I have a PS3 and that is it. I had a 360, but I sold it because it was not worth my money. I do believe Prototype is a better game for me personally and I own both. People that say the graphics are crap have never played the game or know nothing about games.

For the amount of action happening in this game, the graphics are great. Pick up the game, rent it or download it and you can judge for yourself. Stop being fanboys and start being educated gamers.

The smoke, fire and explosions are sick! Tons and I mean tons of blood. I like when it splashes on the screen. :)

The game play is addictive. You can play missions or free to roam. With the click and hold of the R2 button you can sprint and rn up buildings. The game play is fun and well worth it. If you start creating havoc in the streets the people actually get scared are start running away, not just stand there and look at you. If you use some weird powers and not hurt anyone, they will look at you weird.

One of the best parts is when you consume someone.... that is sweet!

The weapons, vehicles and powers are sweet. It has a RPG element to it.

I have both game and both games are different and great in their own ways. I recommend picking it up and trying it for yourself. For the most part the reviews have been great. From 4 out of 5's to 8 out of 10's and up.

It says that anyone who judges either game WITHOUT PLAYING THEM FIRST is an idiot. Look, if INFAMOUS is ur style of game then great, but their BOTH really good. The only people who bash Prototype are the people who haven't played Prototype and depend on the opinion of critics to determine their buying decisions. Don't know about u guys, but I buy games first and read the reviews later to see which sites agree with MY perception of the game.

I love how the sites that gave PROTOTYPE a higher score than INFAMOUS are ignored.Why do u have to put down one game to enjoy another? The fact that there are soooo many comments on every PROTOTYPE review shows how popular the game is and how much people secretly want it. All in all, Im happy I have a PS3 and I had the opportunity to buy both kickass games!

proto type is no where near infamous,playing alex is very tiresome,run up buildings,take identity,collect green dots in x amount of seconds ,take out helicopters,pick up weapons,hit people when going down street even when you try not to,switch between powers from circle using r stick,then the graphics of ps2 low range to boot.the lock on system goes into a f@ck which one should i lock on to moments all the time.infamous is so much more organize got the platinum,a little tip for the boss on evil hard r2 is your best friend.proto type so far is £37.71 asda price waste of my money so far but i will give it two more sitting it just lacks the quality of infamous in every department,one thing you will like is the cut scences,
