G4TV writes: "We haven't heard much about what Criterion Games is working on, outside of new downloadable content for Burnout Paradise. Now we do. During the William Blair Growth Stock Conference this morning, which I managed to listen to via webcast, EA chief operating officer John Pleasants confirmed Criterion has been assigned to an unannounced Need For Speed game.
"We've taken the Burnout team and combined it with our Need For Speed franchise," he said, speaking on EA's efforts to reboot the lagging racing franchise. "So we now have that in our favor because that Burnout team is probably one of the more online-centric and notably high-quality game developers that we have out at Criterion..."
The Nerd Stash: "Here are the best iconic cars in the Need For Speed games that have become the signature of this franchise in the past two decades."
Over the years, the Need For Speed series has proven to be more than capable of offering the ultimate racing experience.
EA's highly anticipated racing title Need For Speed Mobile is now available as early access in Australia for Android and iOS.
Cool, has a lot of potential to be one fun racer!
Finally a good decision from EA in years. I'm pretty sure that they will make an awesome Need For Speed title with arcade elements (like Most Wanted). And maybe they'll add collision in the game (which is something they're so experienced because of Burnout games).
Interesting to see how this will turnout I think the next one will be arcade but I think they need to stick to either arcade or sim and stop going back and forth
yeah, great! criterion = win!
