Appletell: "I hated the original Black and White. I found it to be a God game where you were the servant of the people, with confusing controls that were focused solely on rubbing cow tummies.
Something has changed with Black and White 2 (BW2), and it's probably me, because the game remains unchanged; you play a God who has to guide his people to dominance, either by military conquest (Evil and "black") or by building a civilization so resplendant that your enemies will join you willinging (Good and "white")."
Modder 'merendas235' released a 4K HD Texture Pack for Black & White 2.
I remember playing the first one on my dad's pc, running at about 5 frames per second on a pentium III. Finally i convinced him to get a new pc (partly because he wanted to play Prince of Persia 3d himself) and i had a glorious time with the game. Never played the sequel though.

I would love to see B&W and B&W 2 available on GOG.
I still have my discs, but they don't work with Windows 10 as far as I can tell.
IMO the first one is better. But that's just me. In the first you could pretty much ignore your creature and gain all your power through population, sacrifices, and miracles. The creature island expansion focused more on the creature, and they continued with that idea in the sequel.
I just liked sacrificing dozens of people to fuel my fireballs, and raining fire on the enemy village. LOL
Man this game bring back memories.
I remember playing B&W, Giant Citizen Kabuto and Red Alert 2 during my summer break
What a random article.
Only ever played the first B&W but what a brilliant game. Laughable teaching your Moo-Cow to take a dump in the enemy God's villages. lmfao.
I too wish it arrives on GOG somehow.
