Mass Effect 2 coming January 2010, says marketing

VG247: A Mass Effect 2 advertisement on Eurogamer has confirmed the RPG for a January 2010 release.

Update: The Ad has since been changed, but not before VG247 grabbed it.

It was already confirmed to come out early 2010.

All the you know whats on this site were like "blah blah blah the ps3 09 list keeps shrinking"
Now what you gotta say now? I know the same people who said that about sony's 09 lineup was expecting this game for this year and now I am sure you guys are feeling kind of salty right now. Aren't ya?

really duh5460d ago

If this is true this might as well be part of the 2009 lineup from a marketing standpoint.

@#2 why the Character assassination?

Bnet3435460d ago

Stupid. Why do people release all these games near the same time? Most of them are going to get lost. I'm not going to starve just to save money for games. Phuck you. Oh and yeah, I'll be getting ME2. :)

So this is the article:

"Mass Effect dated for January"
"Update: No it's not, my bad."

Awesome stuff.

You really need to go to the 'open zone' seriously

Gamer zone is for decent comments and arguments not your crap.........

morriss5460d ago

Can't wait for this. It's gonna be awesome.

Not if Final Fantasy Versus 13 or God of War 3 are released in 2010, not saying Mass effect 2 won't be good because I played and loved the first one. Just saying the other two games I listed will give it some competition

shazui1235460d ago

ME2 looks amazing, definitely picking it up (not sure for 360 or pc yet) but nowhere near as good as (said rightly by skatezero) FFV13 or GOW3, no contest. Even if its released this year, its got UC2 (winner IMO), heavy rain, Ratchet and clank, Infamous and KZ2 to contend with so I doubt itll win this years overall GOTY either, still looks AAA and well worth buying. fingerscrossed theres nothing to spoil the experience like last time (screen tearing, huge popin, elevator loading sequences in which I couldve made dinner, eat it, gone for a p!55 and still not be playing Mass effect)

ceedubya95460d ago

And am looking forward to the sequel, as well as the other sequels and new games you guys mentioned. But, I'm not throwing out any game of the year nominations for any of them, as I have yet to play them. For all I know, all of those games could end up sucking big time (although I highly doubt it).

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave37d ago (Edited 37d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
