This is a solid post. good stuff. it's nice to take a step back and enjoy the ride.

Yep, and great to see the evolution of the series.

...Otacon says this at the end of the trailer for MSG4. Seeing that convinces me that MGS will never be on the Xbox360. It's like Kojima is a PS3 fanboy too. Freakin' sweet!

Raoh5448d ago

i think it's more like a david jaffee thing.. neither have said anything bad about the 360

but people who already have money, want to focus on their art, and can take as long or as short as they want in any direction they want without deadlines or pressure working with sony.

I really enjoyed that interview with david jaffee and hiphopgamer where he pulled out and praised the 360 and its games.. but showed commitment to the sony brand in a non fanboy way.

i'd love the next kojima game to be on the ps3 exclusively but i wouldnt be mad about it being multi platform.. my concern was harm being done to mgs4. and it was a masterpiece..so i'm good.. now..

"This is no FPS. This is MGS."

My excitement upon seeing that trailer was off the chart.

Raoh5448d ago

LOL you too?

the only thing about mgs4 that i didnt like was the online portion. its a really good game. the multiplayer is very underrated (minus konami's log in system) but i would have much rather have had a metal gear fighting game like at the ending.. konami/kojima needs to really deliver that..

street fighter 4
soul caliber 4
teken 6

has nothing on the mgs4 fight game portion.. that is true evolution of gaming

@Raoh: So awesomely directed fighting game like last fight in MGS4? It would be a masterpiece...

I’d have taken a few of those out. Prefer Sonic over Sonic 2. Outrun should be in there. Maybe even Pong as millions of people had fun with that even if it was repetitive. Final Fight pipped any Streets of Rage game, although Streets of Rage had the better soundtrack. Too many to list l guess. To me, retro gaming is the 1980s, maybe going into early 1990s.

Agree that the generational gap is too broad to really make a strong list. Need to tighten the years a bit. Hard to compare Pac Man with N64 games.
