Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 info leaked from OXM

VG247: Details from the July issue of OXM leaked onto the net, this morning and it's full of Mass Effect 2 information along with some DLC talk for the first Mass Effect.

It is suggested that you take most of this as rumor until the new issue is released, but E3 will have already happened by then, so when it comes out, more than likely we will already know all of this.

"No more texture pop in"

"
Planets - There will be a Krogan planet, and Illium, an Asari planet, that is like Coruscant from SW. Also there is “Omega” with is like an anti-Citadel in that it’s huge and it’s the bottom of the barrel whereas the Citadel is the height of civilization. Also a Cerebus mothership will act as a location of significance"

"New vehicle that controls better than the Mako…a “new” control scheme"

"Elevator system revamped where you will get the sense of scope of where you’re at and where you’re traveling"

Mass effects 2 going to be great.

I found the Mako handled well, it had a unique physics that

And the pop-in was a non-issue, it occured while the level was stil loading - the loading pause could have lasted .005 seconds longer, and avoid the pop-in, or merely begins presenting the visuals, and we witness a tiny fraction of occasional textures being put on their models.

Big whip.

It did NOTHING to distract from this great title. The best RPG of the gen -- by far.

Mass Effect 2 is going to be a massive hit.

Ausbo5468d ago

it looks as if they are fixing my only complaints about the game
1.) Inventory
2.) exploration
3.) pop-in
4.) framerate

This is not a ps3 article.

The first ME had technical issues, but it sure was a good game. Both review scores and game sales were good for Mass Effect.

If you are just going to hate, why go into this article and comment? We all know who the trolls are in this case....

green5468d ago

ME2 is going to be one of the best games of all time and nothing the haters can do or say will stop that from happening.

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave37d ago (Edited 37d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
