PS3 Slim, Original PS3 Size Comparison

Photoshop job if I was to guess, since it's just a ps3 beside a shrunken ps3, although the bottom does look different, If someone were to leak this they would leak the front of it to take away all doubt. I'm starting to come around though I hope the ps3 slim comes out at e3.

if you consider the size of a cd or bluray, then these compare pics show a faar to small ps3. Looking at the leaked slim shots lately you can see that the ratio between slot and cover is roughly 1:1. so this pic is definatly not real

just compare the cd size to the picture.

I'm 99.9% sure that the newest picture shown on that site is fake.

I do think a slim will come out eventually but it's too soon IMO.

I say give the PS3 another 2 or 3 years, then it would be a better time for the slim. After all, Sony still can make a price cut to attract more buyers. Once Sony can no longer make more price cut, then it's time for the slim.

BTW....This pic is fake, but I believe the PS3 slim is coming sooner than most would think. Why Not? The PS3 is a BIG machine, make it small would definitly make it more attractive and possibly less expensive. You should watch the video again. Those 2 buttons aren't on the bottom where the vents are. They are on the top of the front edge. The Funstation 3 is EXACTLY the same as the one in the picture.

I believe the leaked photos from MainTek Computer Corp that where released on the LevelUp Chinese website are real because they where asked to be removed by MainTek in this statement ~

BUT the pic from NeoGaf I think where just supposed to be used as a mock comparison shot using a Funstation 3 for discussion but where not meant to be taken as "real". Especially when you look at a later post (pic attached) you notice another size measurement that doesn't add up using at the size of a BD disc. Plus you can clearly see the 2 Funstation controller inputs on the front.

Thats the first thing that came to mind. The size of the discs and the drive for them takes up too much room. Shinny plastic is a ridiculous queue indicating its fake. They hid the port configuration, if they had their hands on two different PS3's they would have shown every angle. I doubt Sony would make a new PS3 without putting USB 2.0 ports in the back. Wouldn't you show that off?

hmmm i personally think this is fake for the simple reason that a slimmer PS3 will not just be a simple shrink down job with the same exterior design. When SONY slim down their consoles, they tend to differ in exterior design from their original models.

Also there would be no visual appear to just giving consumers a smaller version of what we already have. They usually come up with a design/concept that catches the eye. This difference in design is what makes us Consumers recognize the difference between an original and a Re-model.

Its possible that leak can be real I remember on the old ps2 models and the slim ps2 models the color on the logo has change from blue into all black on the slim ps2 model. The slim ps3 model color looks the same color logo like the slim ps2 all black on top of the system.

that pic is fake also, the parts are real but what the person did was join the already existing leaked PS3 Slim pictures together and then PhotoShopped it, but the fake is 90% accurate, take a good look at the original shots and you'll see that I'm right.

The picture with the 2 USB Ports was turned 180 degrees to the left and then it was joined to the top face plate with the PS3 logo and disc slot

No matter how often you repost the "Funstation3" pics, they do NOT fit the one on the pic from PSLS, check the video you posted YOURSELF and you see that contrary to the printed cardboard box the "real" Funstation3 lacks ANY vents and has a huge button on the bottom. the two controller ports on the front are a dead give away. it wouldnt be hard for somebody to drill holes in the bottom to make it look legit, and cause all of this arguing. the guy that wrote the article most definitely did not do his research, just jumped on the rumor mill and received plenty of attention for it, which is exactly what he intended. then again, now his reputation is gonna take a big hit, so it may not of been worth it.

There's no way they could make a ps3 that small. They need fans to cool down the cell and rsx.

The only way they could do it is, if they take out the built in power pack, it would have a power brick like 360, and replace the fans with heatsinks. That wouldn't work though, you need FAR more than a heatsink to cool off the CELL and RSX, Yellow light of death would increase to 1000%.
