It seems to me that the guarantee would prevent the publication of overly buggy software. I for one would like to stifle the creation of overly buggy software. Who's with me?

It's just not going to happen where you put out software the isn't buggy. Furthermore, DLC of one sort or another may introduce a bug, but that's not directly tied to the resale of the item.

There are so many issues with her desire that it's not funny.

- Software isn't perfect
- Consumers will find anyway they can to recoup costs on a no-longer used item, which games can become after only one week
- Online issues vary from patch to patch
- Online issues sometimes are not related to the product, but the user's set-up
- How do you quantify what is a reasonable glitch for considering the game broken and what isn't?

Far Cry 2 is a prime example of a game so horribly glitched that it is still to this day unfinishable by many, also the problem of trophies not unlocking

Orange Box for PS3 was widely noted as being almost unplayable. If a benchmark of a reasonable level of usability could be set for a product to be released with an obligation to fix problems which make something fall below that level than it should be plausible if not easy for closed systems like consoles.

Christopher5472d ago

You see, that's the thing though. Let's take your Orange Box note, considering I've played through it completely and only encountered some minor glitches on my PS3.

You really can't rightfully quantify the level of glitches since you're then opening the door for consumers to market against your product for any level of issue. Saying that if they freeze up at once spot and can't continue on is notable, but when you bring in lag and framerate issues, which hinder but don't stop, then you're really allowing customers to abuse certain privileges rather than helping developers.

Also, how do you 'check' to make sure that the complaint is legit, especially since many bugs are specific to the user's set-up? Many people complained of ghosting and floating bugs in AC, but I've never seen it. Could I not just say I experienced the issue like others in order to get my return?

He did an amazing job and I hope he lands somewhere good too. He's a hero someone who cared about gamers.

Standing up for his own company from a bigger company then gets demoted for doing his job as a community manager. At least he's still employed.

I hope Sony doesn't buy Arrowhead. They need to let them be. No corporate medlings and docking someone's pay for standing up form the ppl.

Wtf is going on with these companies?
