from watching this trailers in full screen. I got spoiled from watching too many HD movies and playing too many HD games. Wish Capcom will make one for the PS3. Imagine this game in HD. *drool*
This game is expected to sell a lot, but I doubt it will sell that many hardware, since Japan is already saturated with the Wii. But I could be wrong.

Mandaspt5482d ago

Its all about gameplay not graphics.

diefor5482d ago

Is i want a great gameplay. Thats all.

Menchi5482d ago

And where is it written, that you can't have great graphics -and- great gameplay?

It'd certainly be nice to have both now, wouldn't it?

Narutone665482d ago

fun playing MH series, but I want it in HD. If you're satisfied with only game play. Stick to SNES or even NES, I don't want to be stuck in the past. I want to play games in HD and in 3D.

Smacktard5481d ago

What's the matter, Narutone? Too much color and not enough brownan and blooman?

That trailer was great.

Narutone665481d ago

great on a small screen. But try viewing it full screen on an HDTV and you'll know what I mean. Don't get me wrong, I want to play this game. I just wish that they would just do it in HD on the PS3.

Supercalifragili5482d ago

I must agree with Narutone66, if this game was released on PS3 or Xbox 360 would be much better.

KruLLit5482d ago

Why would the game be better?

Ilikegames765482d ago

If you're ok with only the game play, stick to NES or SNES. Me, I agree with Narutone66, I want HD and specially 3D if possible.

Xephon085481d ago

It would be better because more could be done with physics, character modeling, and other parts that would give it a bigger scale. No offense to the wii but its not exactly capable of power the 360/ps3 are. Also online, you could do way more on 360/ps3 then on wii for online.

The reason why i feel upset its on the wii is because of the potential of next gen systems but the gameplay will probably be solid just like the first 2.

KruLLit5481d ago

The time most developers waste for graphics, physics etc, can instead go to implement new things into the gameplay, UI, characters etc. I wonder why Blizzard's games is so popular, it sure is not the poly-count.

Shnazzyone5482d ago

still looks like an awesome game. You HD gamers better get used to saying "it would look better/ be better on ps360" because your gonna be saying it alot as all the good titles make their way to the #1 system this gen.

Guess you shouldn't have sold your wii huh? That's what you get for listening to the fanboys on this site... you just miss out.

BX815482d ago

The Wii is still kind of lame. This game looks pretty cool though. I read somewhere that you have to pay extra to play it? Can someone clarify this for me? Thanks

SpoonyRedMage5482d ago

Does look good but personally I want to see DQX. I want to know if they'll use the full power of the Wii for it. It would be awesome if they did.

Baka-akaB5482d ago (Edited 5482d ago )

Or maybe the war mentality could stay out at the door for once , and the guy was just stating that obviously it could look greater in hd ...

i didnt get the sense he was starting any feud .

As for the whole "gameplay is everything" kind of rebutal . it's absolutely true , but some of you guys use that argument as if it was some axiom , that somehow ever proved that to have a good gameplay you should have loosy graphics (wich isnt the case here , MH3 looks gorgeous as usual ) .

Both arent mutually exclusive , and we've rarely seen any blockbuster and gorgeous looking game ending up playing like crap . It happens but it's quite rare .
While poorly looking game have often been the one neglected in the gameplay area too .
Chances are most (not all most) games that looks like crap , do so because , they lack funding , and/or their devs lacks skills ... hardly because of some design choice to concentrate themselves on gameplay .
Chances are many games that looks like crap also play like crap .

The good ones are those that make the best of their ressources , be they huge or small , in EVERY area of the games.

Anyway looking forward to MH3 and the probably soon to be gorgeous DQX , like spoony

Menchi5482d ago

Considering Capcom, the guys behind MH3, are actually developing 6 more titles for PS3, and 4 more titles for 360 than their are for the Wii, your comment comes off as a bit... uninformed.

There's actually little evidence that many developers are moving to the Wii and abandoning the HD systems, in fact, the opposite seems to ring true, with more and more efforts being placed on the HD consoles.

While the Wii is the market leader this time around, it's been clearly evident from the start that the market Nintendo have captured just aren't that interested in core games that sell on the other platforms.

As a Wii owner, I find it a bit bemusing to see people who also own a Wii defending the utter lack of 3rd party support, and Nintendo's continued ignorance of the market that kept them alive during the last two generations.

SpoonyRedMage5482d ago

Well Capcom is making laods of Wii games right now as far as I know but they're supporting everything roughly equally.

but there is much more support for the Wii now than there was last year or the year before and considering EA have said that the Wii is going to be taking priority I believe that Publishers are looking more to the Wii.

mastiffchild5482d ago

Well after the disgrace of the DLC costumes for SF4 and the even worse Vs content con for RE5 did you expect anything else but pay to play online?

Herein lies the strangeness of the decision to put it out on the Wii(incidentally the console where Capcoms work has been dire of late)they want you to play through Wii Connect, the weakest of all three online systems which means they'll have had to do loads of work themselves ro make it possible. Add the fact that a high percentage of Wiis will nevr even see an internet connection and the choice gets even odder. the game looks amazing and will be one of the veru best ever on the Wii, I don't doubt that it'll sell like hotcakes in Japan but will the pay to pay issue kill it again in the west?

I just think it would have had a bigger, or at least more willing market where the online functionality was proven I guess-I'll be getting it pre ordered as a fan of the series(and pray that it doesn't disappoint like so many of Capcoms games this gen-RE5, LP, SF4, DMC4 etc-that's without the RE remakes, lightgun shooters and cack like CTYD on Wii!)and will, prolly, love it but I just think it's a poor business and game development choice.

SpoonyRedMage5482d ago

Well I don't know how much work it takes to make a good online on the Wii but if they had a look at Echoes of Time and the stuff like The Conduit they could easily make it excellent online.

In fact having been on Xbox Live I've got to say that the online on most games isn't THAT much better than Echoes of Time.

The things it should have though(which I don't know if it will):
Wiispeak functionality
Ingame friend requests(like Echoes of Time)
quick transition between on and offline, dropping in and out for friends(like Echoes of Time)
Unlimited Friend List
Dedicated Servers

And then it's sorted, what would be the problem?

If you haven't noticed Nintendo has started to push online on the Wii with lots of ads and guides for the uneducated.

Pay to Play may negatively affect it's sales in the west but doesn't Nintendo's Pay to Play range of games mean they have DLC or something?

mastiffchild5481d ago

IDK how Echoes of Time performed but if Ninty are doing something about Wii Connect(and after it completely ruined SSBB they needed to-one of their biggest games brought to a laughing stock by terminal lag)then I'll be really pleased.

Every game I play online with the Wii has had real issues-MOHH2 was real ugly and even laggier, WaW gimped numbers to stay less laggy but has big disconnection issues(on my 8meg connection I lose touch every 25mins at the mo)and even MKWii suffers despite the predictive code they use as often you think you've finished, say, third but on the lisy you'll get fifth.

In short there was plenty to fix, imo, which Capcom wouldn't have had to contend with elsewhere-I can honestly say I never experienced anything as poor as the online of SSBB anywhere else.

Anyway, as I say I'll get it as it looks excellent and hope the online cost and performance aren't prohibitive to success in the west but the number of Wii owners that don't hook their consoles up would really concern me if I were Capcom and if they imagine fewer players then the cost may go up for gamers.

Personally, the only real worry I have, esp with it looking so polished, is if it plays as well as it looks as Capcom have stung me more than once recently and messing up RE5 was pretty poor in my book(as a single player game-the co-op was OK)given the resources put into it so I won't count my chickens. I love Capcom really, they've almost always been my fav dev/pub but, imo, the games just aren't as good as they were last gen. Compare RE4 with RE5 or better DMC3 with DMC4-that's my point I guess.

Smacktard5481d ago

Pay-to-play isn't confirmed in NA. It is for Japan, and it has always been so in Japan. I can see them doing it in Japan, because people will buy it anyways, but not as much in North America, where they're still trying to get Monster Hunter out there. It's possible that it'll happen in NA, but I think it would be a bad business move.

The Best Monster Hunter Games - Every Western Monster Hunter Game Ranked

What's the best Monster Hunter of all time? In a series where half of the titles have the word 'Ultimate' fixed on the end, it can be a difficult decision to make. NL are not averse to difficult decisions though, so have taken it upon theirselves to rank every single Monster Hunter game (yes, even the non-Nintendo ones) to determine which is the very best.

Why Monster Hunter is Less Successful In The West, and How Capcom Could Fix That

The third generation of Monster Hunter drags the series back to western shores because well, why not? In fact you could say that three really has been the magic number. Unless you live in Japan in which case one and two were also pretty fantastic and if anything three has been nothing short of a crushing disappointment.

‘But wait!’ Voletic hears you scream, ‘Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate has been recently announced, why are you addressing the third iteration?’ Because background knowledge is a beautiful thing and Voletic has a word count to fill.

Amigaengine3462d ago

Simple, change the name to call of monsters and add guns :P

PeaSFor3462d ago

release it on ps4, it will be a good start.

"Why Monster Hunter is Less Successful In The West, and How Capcom Could Fix That"

Simple answer. Make the game multiplatform. Release it on PC/X1/PS4.

stavrami-mk23462d ago

vita don't forget the vita

KillerResistance3461d ago

@stavrami-mk2 ya, when will Monster Hunter come back to its home platform (PSP), i mean its successor Vita, can do alot with it and so can other systems, I just don't understand why Monster Hunter is becoming exclusive to Nintendo after all the years of it being on Sony.

breakpad3462d ago (Edited 3462d ago )

no ..MonHUn does not need wide acceptance from west audience, it created and succeed without acceptance from casual gamer ...Capcom must keep it intact as it is ...if they try to appeal to western gamers they probably make some tragic mixture of game mechanics spoiling entirely the series (see RE4-6, Drak souls 2)...those who want to play the game they play it even in japanese ,it doesnt need to be accepted from everyone

Th4Freak3462d ago

My problem with MH is the slow paced and plain combat system, if they make it more dynamic count me in.

breakpad3462d ago (Edited 3462d ago )

PLAIN combat system the Mon hun series????? have you ever played the games man??? Mon Hun has one of the most frantic and dynamic combat systems ever , it is perfectly made like a japanese fighting game ..the only problem is that has been stolen from the underpowered Nintendo systems ..bring it back to Sony and see it shine

Th4Freak3461d ago

Yes I have, I bought MH freedom Unite a few months after I got my Vita because it was being highly recommended on Reddit and after spending 14 hours into the game the combat system didn't make it for me, every other aspect of the game is great but the combat system isn't dynamic in any way, not only its slow paced but you can't make combos like you would in other games.

Now, keep in mind that in my comment I expressed that it didn't work FOR ME, I know a lot of people love it as it is and thats fine but I didn't like it, I like fast paced combat where I can move fast, hit several parts of the mob not only its legs (in the case of bosses) and make dynamic combos not the same combo all the game.

WeAreLegion3462d ago

Don't try telling Monster Hunter fans the combat sucks. They won't listen. -_-

Neckbear3462d ago (Edited 3462d ago )

But it doesn't suck. It's its own particular brand of hack-n-slash, which is why some people dislike it- with it being slow and precise.

But I'd rather have MonHun's combat stay as it is than see the series transform into a modern-day, western-ish work with a "mash square to win and QTEs for cool animations" combat system.

It's fine as it is.

dredgewalker3462d ago

I have to disagree that the combat sucks. Combat in this game requires a lot of planning and if you just use the old hack and slash routine you'd end up as monster chow. The controls take a while to get used to and each weapons have their own pros and cons. It's also a fun game to play with friends but I have to admit that this game is not for everybody.

N4g_null3462d ago

The combat is jarring at first but they should provide context. Small fast arms should be enabled that attack like a ninja and the heavy weapons would work better perception wise but the ninja attacks would take way longer but offer quicker dodging.

Yet if you play the game you can see even that is sort of supported.

Nerdmaster3462d ago (Edited 3462d ago )

I still wish for a "real" RPG that uses Monster Hunter battle system. People told me Dragon's Dogma did it, but I played it and the combat had nothing to do with Monster Hunter other than sometimes having to fight really big monsters.

Monster Hunter would be one of my favorite game series with its fantastic battle system and crafting, if it didn't rely too much on going back many times to the same places, one time to kill twenty X enemies, other time to kill ten Y enemies, other time to gather ten Z mushrooms... It should have more of a traditional quest system: you get the quests to kill X, Y and collect Z, so you go once and you can do all that at once, instead of having 20 quests that you have to choose one at a time and go to the same place all the 20 times.

I always play for like... 20 hours before getting tired of the quest structure and quitting the game.

HentaiMasterRace3462d ago

Make it multiplatform for starters. 3DS/Wii U, PS4/Vita.

N4g_null3462d ago

What is sad is it would sell the same number but you just spent a ton of money porting it. Just because people don't like the combat system and they didn't like the story. It really is a bayo2 like problem.

Spotie3461d ago

Considering how successful the game was on PSP, it would have made sense to put it on the Vita, since many PSP fans upgraded with the expectation that a new MonHun would be there. A Vita version would do very well, and move units to boot.

Putting Monster Hunter on PS4 or even XB1 would also boost sales- and thus profits- quite a bit. Like Dragon Quest, there's an existing fanbase on PlayStation consoles for the franchise, and the larger- and faster growing- install base is more than promising.

It's nothing at all like Bayonetta. Bayonetta virtually abandoned its original fanbases to build a new one; Monster Hunter doesn't have to do that. Rather, it would be going back, in some cases, and expanding to new areas in others.

N4g_null3461d ago

You can argue that those gamers bought 3ds. Which would be true. Also capcom was not willing to spend the money to push a vita after their fanbases began to turn on them.

We are talking about japan here. When was man hunter successful in the west?

NovusTerminus3462d ago

They need a full console release, launch the CryEngine one for PC for PS4/XO. And make sure to bring it stateside.

Masterchief_thegoat3462d ago

Maybe being exclusive is not a smart choice capcom has made.
