Modern-Gamer writes: Back in the mid-90s the arcade scene was one of diversity; and all type of games had their place. From fighting games like the Street Fighter Alpha series to the large start units like Crusin USA. Every game made an impact. One of the biggest games to make its mark on the arcade scene was Virtual On. With dual joysticks and one of the best realizations of mech fighting, Virtual On was a game ahead of its time. Now 13 years after its first release, can Virtual On still hold up to today's gaming standards.

Sega Says Virtual-On And Virtua Striker Are Japan Only

While we got Fighting Vipers and Virtua Fighter 2, Cyber Troopers Virtual-On and Virtua Striker are Japan only. The Virtual-On team says Sega has no plans to release the two upcoming arcade games outside of Japan.

For a student constantly on the lookout for cheap games to play and not really wanting to buy full-priced new releases, second-hand shops and Xbox Live Arcade seemed the perfect solution. Some purchases were really not worth playing, but there were some real gems that turned up from time to time – some of which were clearly at their best when played multiplayer, but had nobody online because perhaps they had not been critical successes, or had been out so long everyone had lost interest.
