The game is less challenge orientated than more recent offerings that have liberally "borrowed" the formula from SingStar, with failure being irrelevant. The punishing collapse of your efforts in Guitar Hero World Tour or Rock Band is nowhere to be seen here, once again removing barriers that some may feel detract from the otherwise effortless fun to be had from simply enjoying singing.

Beta Applications for SingStar now being taken

It was earlier today that Sony revealed that karaoke classic SingStar was due to receive an Online Battle mode, due to be introduced in an update available in June.

However those that love to sing to their hearts content can gain access to the new mode prior to this, by applying to participate in the Beta.
