IGN: Cocoto Platform Jumper Review

Neko Interactive's first Cocoto game for WiiWare was a disappointment, as flawed motion controls marred what could have been an enjoyable fishing design for Nintendo's download service. The character's other outings on the Big N's current console have fared better, though, and while none of them have been either extraordinary or particularly novel they've at least found a place with the budget-minded Wii audience. Cocoto Platform Jumper clocks in a similar experience, as a design that can't be considered all that great thanks to its limited scope and somewhat stiff controls, but is still fairly fun for what it is. At an asking price of 700 Wii Points, IGN could see where fans of the character, and fans of character-based platformers in general, could find a decent amount of enjoyment here.

Thunderbolt: Cocoto Platform Jumper Review

Cocoto Platform Jumper simply reeks of average, and for the equivalent of £4.90 GBP (or $7 USD/€7) you could pick up a decent GameCube title. It's not an abominable game, and is moderately entertaining in short bursts. It's just that there are so many better alternatives out there that you'd be hard pressed to find a reason to pick this out of the bunch.

PALGN: WiiWare Review Round-Up

The WiiWare library has expanded considerably these past few months, with many games being excellent examples of what PALGN would like to see more of in the future. Of course for everything good, there's a heap of absolute rubbish. Once again, Bplus fails to deliver with their latest WiiWare game Bit Boy!!, while German elephants invade the service in one of the worst fighting games seen in years. Still, there's certainly something that will appeal to everyone, whether it's some glorious platforming in NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits or defending a castle in My Life as a Darklord. Until next time, stock up on those Wii points!

WiiDS: Cocoto Platform Jumper Review

Overall, the game is a good blend of skill and luck. With simple to use controls giving an extra niceness about the game. The game is quite addictive, especially when you incorporate your friends into the mix, the childish cartoons makes it even more enjoyable as you realise that this game shouldn't be taken at all seriously in terms of graphics. Instead, it should just be enjoyed as the bit of fun it is!

+ Quick to get into, Jumping in no time!
+ Hard mode is a good challenge.
+ Quite addictive and enjoyable!

- Music and sound affects can get annoying after time.
- Story lacks any real depth at all. It's pretty much "save your friends".
- Some people will find it repetitive, make sure this game style is for you!
- No real replay value once completed.
