Hoshigami Remix announced for the DS

Aksys Games announced today that they will be publishing their first DS game, Hoshigami Remix, a remake of the game Hoshigami: Ruining Blue Earth for the PS1. Remix is currently set to be released this summer.

For those of you who didn't get to play the original, you control the hero Fazz, and his helpful group of turn based mercenaries. Your group is hired to protect some ancient ruins, and without giving too much away, we'll just tell you that a powerful evil begins to rise from the shadows, and it should take over 50 hours for Fazz to fight his way through the world and defeat it.

Aksys Talks Hoshigami Remix

Hoshigami was a niche hit when released on the PSone originally, garnering cult support from strategy RPG fans. Now the game has been remixed for the DS and is heading to Europe in just over a month. Cubed³ caught up with Aksys Games, the team that worked hard on the English localisation and worked closely with Arc System Works, the actual developer of the title.

Destructoid Review: Hoshigami Remix

All in all, Hoshigami Remix is a good game. Sure, Destrutoid ragged on it a ton, but they think that through all the changes they made to the game, it became more accessible to a larger audience, and made the game a bit more fun for those who aren't really hardcore into tactics RPGs. While there are some major flaws to deal with, it's certainly a more worthwhile buy than, say, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, and since we're waiting for Front Mission DS, strategy RPG fans might as well pick it up.

Verdict: Buy It!
Score: 6.5/10
