New gen of F1?
the PS2 verson looked better..........

SynGamer5484d ago

The images are from the Wii and PSP versions...everyone knows the Wii isn't a graphics powerhouse.

Luzce5484d ago

Codemasters has exclusive rights to F1 games. We can only hope that the PS3/X360 versions coming out a year later look a whole lot better, but what we've seen so far looks like crap.

electricgta5484d ago

lol thn why not show ps3 n 360 too? looks like an old pc game to me

volcane5484d ago

Wow! those screens look well sucky. They look like Toca Touring Car Championship for the PC standard of graphics and that came out back in 1997.

matey5484d ago

what ever guys grow up this will be alright lets wait for a trailer

Avto5484d ago

Even for the Wii the game looks bad, I mean F1 2006 on PS2 looked better than this and the PSP version is also not as good as it could have been this is probably an early build so maybe it will improve

WorthPlaying: F1 2009 PSP Review

WorthPlaying writes: "Formula 1 racing has plenty of exciting elements to it that make it a premier sport for racing fans. The vehicles often average around 200 mph. Drivers often have open cockpits and not much else protecting them, aside from a helmet and flame-retardant suit. All of the race tracks have varying twists and turns as well as different track surface conditions. Even the environments of each track differ, from closed circuits to those happening in city streets. Unfortunately, like soccer, Formula 1 racing has a large following everywhere but in the United States. With this knowledge at hand, it is still surprising to see that Formula 1 racing doesn't have as many video game versions of the sport as NASCAR does, despite the overall world popularity. In fact, the last time someone attempted a Formula 1 racing title was during the PS3 launch."

WorthPlaying: F1 2009 Review

WorthPlaying writes: "Formula 1 racing is a bit of a mystery to most Americans, and for some reason, open-wheeled racing has never really caught on here. Perhaps we expect our racecars to look like our actual cars, or we just would rather watch some good ole boys turn left for five hours rather than cheer a Frenchman with an unpronounceable name through a series of hairpin turns. 1 2009 attempts to change that opinion and give some attention to this somewhat-ignored sport, and while it provides a great racing experience, it lacks the flash needed to really turn heads."

F1 2010 Launching In September + Screenshots

Wednesday, 10th March 2010 (2pm UK)

A new generation of FORMULA ONE games will come to high definition consoles and PC later this year as Codemasters today announced that F1 2010 will be released this September for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and PC.

As the official game of the 2010 FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, F1 2010 will include all of the official teams, drivers and circuits from the coming season. F1 2010 will feature the return of seven times FORMULA 1 Drivers' World Champion Michael Schumacher, the introduction of several new teams, and the brand new Korean International Circuit that will host the 2010 FORMULA 1 KOREAN GRAND PRIX.

The September launch will see F1 2010 become the first official FORMULA ONE game to appear for Xbox 360 and marks the return of FORMULA ONE to PC after an eight year absence. The arrival of the HD editions of FORMULA ONE follows Codemasters' extremely successful launch of F1 2009 for Wii and PSP, which became a top five best seller throughout the past holiday period.

In F1 2010 gamers will take on the full, expanded grid in a variety of game modes including GRAND PRIX, Championship, Time Trial and an extensive, innovative Career mode. F1 2010 will also feature a highly advanced damage model, fully dynamic weather system and extensive competitive multiplayer options.

In production at Codemasters Studios Birmingham, F1 2010 is being developed using the EGO Game Technology Platform, Codemasters' proprietary tech that powered the critically acclaimed, million-plus selling Colin McRae: DiRT 2 and Race Driver: GRID. The award-winning technology has been further developed to accurately recreate the unique aerodynamics and handling of 200MPH+ FORMULA ONE cars. The tech combined with Codemasters' unprecedented access to FORMULA ONE teams and drivers will ensure that F1 2010 delivers the most authentic FORMULA ONE racing experience yet. F1 2010 will be released September 2010 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

Thanks for the alternate sources guys (and gals) :)

EDIT: And thanks for the approvals :D

blu3print5164d ago

games need to come out like how sports games like NBA etc come out, at the START of the series not near it's end. And it's not like they'll take advantage of it and allow aero updates to the cars like how teams will introduce them throughout the year or simulate how the actual race went like if it rain in Bahrain it'll be so in the game

SynGamer5164d ago

I know one or two of the circuits aren't complete yet in real life so that, plus wanting to have a good first impression are probably what lead to the September release.

I don't mind waiting an extra what...3 months or so, from the original mid-2010 release.

nix5164d ago

the last F1 (from sony) was really great! let's see how this is going to come out as.

SynGamer5164d ago

I wasn't impressed in the least with F1:CE. Aside from the weather affects on the screen, the game was sluggish and the camera angles were horrible (for a racing game).

chasegarcia5164d ago

f1 2010? I hate when they put dates on the tittle. Makes me think a version of the game would come out every year.

SynGamer5164d ago

It *is* a multi-year license but this first next-gen offering looks to be pretty solid.

Moebius695164d ago

@Syngamer

Actually this one will be the second next gen offering

SynGamer5164d ago (Edited 5164d ago )

Not counting F1 2009 on the Wii and PSP, it will be the first next-gen (PC/PS3/360) offering from Codemasters...
