IncGamers: Demigod Review

IncGamers' Tim McDonald has a look at the latest PC RTS offering.

"You'd think that an RTS that essentially gives you one unit wouldn't be strategically or tactically solid, but it is. Other than your Demigod, you can improve your team in various different ways, too."

Wow.. Good review. Possibly a game to beat StarCraft's dominance?

JonahNL5484d ago (Edited 5484d ago )

I definitely wouldn't say that. Not only because it's an entirely different RTS, but also because SCII will be the best RTS ever! ;-) (Unless people return to SC in a week, which I can imagine happening.) =P

skip2mylou5484d ago

no i doubt it Starcraft has been reigning the RTS genre on the pc for 2 decades? i think. but Demigod deffenitly comes close

Dorjan5484d ago

Wow! Nice review!

I really couldn't get my head around the concept until now. Cheers!

Leord5484d ago

Yeh. That pic alone that's shown around the globe is quite epic.

thetamer5484d ago (Edited 5484d ago )

@ Leord. This isn't a StarCraft comparison. But I don't think StarCraft II is going to be as big as you think it will.

Leord5484d ago

If you mean the "dominance" I mentioned, it's because StarCraft is already dominating the total RTS market anyway.

SC2 is another thing all together, but has enormous potential to beat everything. Like WoW, but RTS :)

Cogo5484d ago

Dude, starCraft isn't the be all end all.

It's not the dominant RTS either.

JonahNL5484d ago

I partly agree with you, even though SCII can fail to live up to its hype, I do think it has the potential to become the best RTS ever. Not only because of the quality Blizzard can deliver, but also because of the amazing balance, gameplay possibilities and endless replay value due to Blizzard's never-ending support!

AndyA5484d ago

Sounds like it's worth a look. Shame about the AI, though.

Fyzzu5484d ago

To jump on the rickety bandwagon I don't think it really looks anything like Starcraft. Does look good though. Interesting ideas anyway!

Leord5484d ago

It's obviously nothing like SC, I meant in total amount of gamer fans.

Fyzzu5484d ago

I know, perhaps I should have said "to dismantle the rickety bandwagon" :)

JonahNL5484d ago

It's TOTALLY different than SCII, but that's exactly the thing makes Demigod stand out in a wasteland filled with bad RTS-games.

I wonder if we're over the hump now or if this is the next Call of Duty.

darkronin2293526d ago

I still haven't found a MOBA I can get into. Did LoL for awhile, but it was such a slow grind in terms of ranking up and getting money. DOTA 2 just scares me. Infinite Crisis was alright, but I lost interest in it pretty quickly.

Chaoticmoon3526d ago

Why does Dota 2 scare you? Just wondering because imo its a fairly accessible game especially if you get some friends together to play with you. Also if you are just scared of sucking dont be, just have fun and ignore those who flame because if they are flaming then they probably suck too and are just trying to blame you for any of their mistakes. So just download it AND HAVE FUN!

M3rkMast3r3526d ago

Great article it is nice that someone documented the history of MOBA's.

midnightambler3526d ago

Interesting stuff, especially for a noob like me.

qwerty6763526d ago (Edited 3526d ago )

"From mod to sensation" to over-saturation.

i dont like how all these companys are now trying to make mobas, the markets already been taken by lol and dota.

they should come up with something new instead of just copying.
