Gamasutra writes: "With the recently announced sales figures for Madworld clocking in at a measly 66,000, the pile of evidence that hardcore games can't succeed on the Wii is getting larger. Or so it would seem.
The refrain I normally hear from analysts and pundits is that hardcore gamers aren't interested in the Wii. They claim the large user base is concentrated around casual gamers and children. What else could explain why critically acclaimed games made for hardcore audiences such as No More Heroes haven't managed to sell well? "
There’s a consensus about Splatoon 1 that cannot be disputed: motion controls are the way to play. The Wii U Gamepad had its many problems on the system as a whole, but along with the way in which the touch screen was implemented in the first game like I mentioned in my last piece, using the Gamepad’s gyroscope was deemed a superior way to play compared to traditional joystick control.
Rustyshell.com: The Conduit strived to be the quality FPS experience Wii owners were missing out on, with quality graphics and a robust online multiplayer component.
Hardcore Gamer: The Conduit was an interesting first-person shooter that sneaked its way onto the Wii amid a deluge of shovelware and "family" games.
Yeah right first of all this is a shooter, and secondly it has online a feature that people will buy it for if nothing else.
The game will sell very slowly. And I have hopes that the game will sell more than RE4: Wii edition (1.56 million) because of it's T rating and the fact it has so many features. Single player, online multiplayer, it will sell. The game will be great, it is obvious when a game has such a devoted team.
If you are going to buy it, leave a reply that states "I Will Buy The Game".
We are getting plenty of garbage articles lately. I didn't know No More Heroes sold badly..Hell, it has a sequel in the pipeline, and I do believe that game had a smaller opening week than Madworld. If you are going to discount the games that prove third parties and "hardcore" games do sell on the system then don't even bother writing such a nonsensical article. I don't even know what a "Hardcore" game is anyway.
Matter of fact, using logic like this; lets not forget that game "wanted" just belly flopped as well as The God Father 2, I guess those type of games have no home on the HD consoles either.
I wonder where that guy was when Killer 7 and Okami crashed on PS2? How did it affect the PS2 and its owners? Nothing changed.
Find one core game that isnt selling on Wii and should be and I'll believe this BS but pulling up a game like Madworld as if it has mainstream appeal is just ludicrous and proves the writer has very little comprehension of gaming as a whole.
NMH, Madworld, Killer 7, Okami, those are all great titles but they do not have mainstream appeal. So they fail. Those same games would have been hits in the Nes,SNes days of gaming, but thanks to PS era gamers not being real gamers, they now fail.
These guys are not going to buy black and white games. They need their WW2 setting. Their FPS, Maddens and Need for Speed, but will never touch a titles like Madworld.
Also titles like those havent sold since the PS era began. Probably never will. However Conduit is a FPS and should have mainstream appeal. Wont be the same case with it. Granted it is a new IP so its not going to be pulling Mario numbers or GTA numbers but it will be a million seller or more.
hardcores games can't sell super smash bro say hi 8million more than any ps3 games.
