Card games have always served as a good way for a group of people to gather together around a table and have a good time, either working with someone else or in a free-for-all. While video games may have gotten rid of the table, there are still plenty of games to be found that offer the spirit of more social board and card games. No strange to the Xbox LIVE Arcade, Uno has long stood as one of the best selling Arcade titles, and with good reason, considering that in addition to being a good adaptation of the card game, it actually costs the same price as a deck of Uno cards. There are some variations on Uno out in the physical realm, and one new variety has just penetrated the virtual market: the fast paced Uno Rush.
Those who had an Xbox 360 near its launch know the importance of Uno. And now that experience is gone.
RunDLC listed five games that it feels would be more enjoyable with Kinect support. The list includes Lumines Live! and Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2.
Console Monster writes: "There's no doubt in my mind that UNO was one of the surprise hits of the Xbox Live Arcade. When it released, not even Microsoft could predict that thousands of gamers would sit down to play a simple card game accompanied by some soothing music. UNO fans rejoiced in June 2008 when a sequel to the popular title was revealed at the E3 Expo in the form of UNO Rush.
The concept behind UNO was to be the first person to successfully call "UNO" and be the first person to discard of all their cards on the discard pile. Taking it in turns, cards of the same colour or number to the one on the discard pile would be placed on top. Alternatively, players can place an "action" card which changes the colour of the pile. Not being able to play, results in the player obtaining a card from the deck..."
