OXCGN Unlocks FPS Hellion: Mystery Of The Inquisition

OXCGN looks at the medieval shooter and wonders why the PS3 misses out:

"We all know more and more PC titles are now moving across to the console platforms, which is a great thing to see actually...

One of the games to pop up on the OXCGN Rader Scope yesterday is Poland developer Flying Fish's Hellion.

"Our vision is to create a historical fiction game that will put the player in the center of the medieval world, full of its cruelty, intransigence and diversified beliefs. In this ruthless reality, the player will become an eyewitness of great political machinations, unseen brutality and betrayal."

awesome, it seems there is more killing to be done :)

although can it be better than Assassins Creed I wonder?

gaminoz5495d ago

NO.

And besides I think this one is supposed to be a FPS. Looks good, but will it BE good? If it's like Might and Magic and just a lazy port...

XboxOZ3605495d ago

Yes,FPS genre mate, info a bit light on at the moment though, but it could well be something to at least give Assassin's Creed something to think about, and add it to the other game of similar style, The Crossing . .

That would be three games in the same era and based around the similar theme . . which is great actually, as I really enjoy these meatier games.

gaminoz5495d ago

Some of the art looks a bit like that game Jericho...I hope it goes more realistic and less 'horror gore', which gets a bit meh.

gambare5495d ago

any info about the requirements for this title on PC? it looks awesome.

None at the moment, that we can see anyway, but we will be keeping an eye on it for "whatever" platform it does end up appearing on.

Seems cool, love Polish games, like the Witcher.

Well that's ANOTHER Pc centric game heading our way actually. Announcements were made last year, even though many were saying "it'll never happen" . . Mainly from the PC brigade of course.

Thing is, many developers can no longer afford NOT to develop for the consoles these days, or in the future. The console is making its way into heavier titles and more inroads to the everyday life of most people.

So in order to get their games seen, played and purchased, they need to open it up to a broader audience, even if the hardcore don't like it.

It's business, and unless that business wants to fail, it must adapt and change, or fail and close. I'm sure if a few of the nay-sayers owned or ran a business, they'd have some understanding of the importance of it all. You do NOT go into business just to make others happy WITHOUT getting a return for it.

Lets hope the product meets the vision! :)

erm...

ok there is not much info about the game but many websites reports that this game is coming in January 2010 for PC, PS3 and 360, single launch and there is an official web of the game

http://www.hellion-game.com...

the game is developed by Flying Fish Works but they don't mention about not coming to PS3 or something, please check the sources or put the info about not coming to PS3, yeah, I want the game and I'll get it on PC but I don't find info about the game being cancel or not coming to PS3, accord other webs the game is running for the 3 platforms.

even PS3 sites announced the launch of the official web

http://boardsus.playstation...

http://www.ps3attitude.com/...

http://www.psu.com/Hellion-...

and other sites mark this game as multi

Games press, the industry portal for all games release media has it as PC/360 and the Press Release, also in the article states PC and 360, no mention of the PS3 . . .

It could be a full multi, but both GamesPress (only open to "official Games Media" where PR companies send all their For Immediate Release Press Releases, which are then accessed by the media) and the Official Press Release state otherwise - at the moment. Which is why it twigged my attention.

I believe it would be great game on the PS3, said so in the article as well. We're not say nah nah nah . . in fact, we're wondering WHY the Press Release and the GamesPress have it down as PC/360 only . . .?

So the "source" is the Official Press Release from Flying Fish Games, and GamesPress.com

The site only became live yesterday (16-04-09)

gambare5495d ago (Edited 5495d ago )

then is a "we don't know" until an official release date is marked

but:

"Frankfurt, Germany / Gdynia, Poland, March 24th 2009 – Today Flying Fish Works announces their upcoming product “Hellion: Mystery of the Inquisition” coming on XBOX360, PS3 and PC in 2010. The team is using the latest technology to present an outstanding reality, authentic locations and impressive combats within the 13th century. “Hellion” also represents an epic plot set in a lively medieval world charged with upgradeable exorcisms and uncompromising brutality according to this period.

As an armed man of the newborn Inquisition, the player will battle heretics, execute exorcisms, face demons and unintentionally become part of a political and religious intrigue. Realizing that all of mankind is standing on the verge of doom, he will have to use all the physical and spiritual abilities he ever acquired to face the fiends of hell and, finally, discover the Mystery of the Inquisition."

and that's part of the script for the official media

Point taken, many thanks . .

The earlier Press Release stated otherwise, thanks for the clificiation, I'll ammend the item now.Cheers.
