TGV: Flock XBLA Review

TGV's Knight Carver reviews Flock for Xbox360.
"When I was younger, I had a plastic maze game which you held in both hands. There was a steel ball inside, and the goal was, to manipulate the ball into a delicately placed hole within the maze, by tilting the case around. This is what Flock really boils down to."

I don't like where MS's pricing system is going...

Seraphim5491d ago

it's not just MS. Games are also popping up on PSN at the same price. While some games might be worth $15 I think the sweet spot for downloadable arcade games is $10. It's a price that I can feel confident buying a game at and know regardless of whether or not I like it I'll at least play it enough to get my $10 worth from it. Not to mention the booster packs and add-ons that are starting to often pop up for titles. $10-15 for the game + another $3-5 for extra content and at the end of the day you just paid $60 for a downloadable game you could have got for $20-30 had it been on a disc at retail.... Then again, you see how much they want for the Press Kit at Capcom? Actually makes the game at $15 look like a bargain. anyway that's my rant of the day. I absolutely hate the $15 price point of games on XBL and PSN and normally just pass on a sure buy because of it....

Capcom is getting really greedy this gen, more so recently.
This game should be like $5

Anyway, is anyone else looking forward to Fat Princess? It's adorable yet gruesomely bloody at the same time. Im waiting for it to surface with a demo before i decide though.
Hopefully at a lower price than this, considering it's pretty much just capture the flag

Seraphim5491d ago (Edited 5491d ago )

I wonder if it's Capcom. Do they even own the studio who created Flock? It could be developer+capcom+sony/microsof t. Or perhaps the extra $5 is for all those press kits they sent out. ;) either way, I'll wait for a price drop or a sale. I wasn't overly impressed w/ the demo. Certainly not enough to spend $15 on it...

Fat Princess? Yes please. Although I fear Sony might drop that $15 price point with it because it has been in development for over a year and has quite the following. Endless online action plus single player. To anyone who's going to play online often $15 isn't a bad price. Though I still don't like the price point a demo might persuade me to make this the first $15 dl I buy... ;)

Never heard of Fat Princess, is that PSN exclusive?

FamilyGuy5491d ago

As far as I know it's PSN exclusive. I heard the name a while back but i recently downloaded the newest Qore episode from the PSN (it was free) and it really got me informed/interested in the game, as well as that new red fraction game.

Yeah it is getting a bit worrying. This was way too expensive.

Jeebz235491d ago

I agree, the pricing is stopping me buying these games!

Great review though.

leeeeed5491d ago

I really should give this one a whirl

FonzyChalks5491d ago

I was really expecting this to me more of a puzzle game however playing the demo last night left me with disappoint.

The review rings true. Don't let the little sheep fool you, they are much more boring then they look.

Hunter865491d ago

Yeah I just tried the demo then, sucks to see an interesting concept turn out to be so boring in execution.
