OXCGN:
"While the game causes controversy around the world, it's going ahead full steam at Atomic Games and being backed up by world renowned publisher KONAMI...
Here's the latest update on the game with an interview with the president of Atomic Games, Peter Tamte."
"The Seattle-based (Washington , the US) indie games publisher Victura and indie games developer Highwire Games, are today very happy and excited to announce that they have just released three new missions for their first-person tactical shooter "Six Days in Fallujah", nearly doubling the content in the game (the new missions is available right now for PC via Steam Early Access)." - Jonas Ek, TGG.
Six Days In Fallujah is a controversial military sim which just hit Early Access. Jump Dash Roll dives into the battlefield to give its first impressions on a possible rival to Call of Duty.
14 years after its original controversy-filled announcement, Six Days in Fallujah has made its way into Early Access. How does this milsim game fare?
this game will be on scale with the likes of Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising, which is also basically a war simulation gameplay where tactics and not run-n-gun play a BIG role.
Plus we get another excellent game engine for use in other games . . ppl seem to forget that as each developer makes new tools for future games
It"s funny how a solid looking non biases game, that will be drawing a great deal of attention and also in a sub-genre that requires practise and persistance, not to mention that four lettered word "Team"-work is barely looked at.
Yet mention that i may go to Xbox 360 as an exclusive, or Sony as an exclusive, and watch the sparks fly.
It's one of the things I dislike an=bout n4g, the fact that decent news and game information, the basis of what N4G (NEWS 4 Gamers) was created in the first place, is all but forgotten in the pursuit of Fanboyism and Console wars.
Shame really, because if just half of the fanboys did pay attention to just 50% of the real news, they may actually learn something about the medium they say the support.
Whatthey support is the silly idea of elitism, nothing more.
This game is going to shock a few ppl, not in so much from the game's content, but inhow it is presented, and the fact a new engine has been built over the last 18-24 months to help drive this game.
An engine that will see light in many other games once the liecencing has begun post release. We need more diverse and functional game engines, rather than relying on what is now becoming an OLD Skool engine, namely Epic's Unreal Engine 3.
Their follow up, Unreal Engine 4 will not hit the decks until mid or late 2010, so in the mean time, some developers will continue using a slowly dating engine, because it's shinnier . .. Look at Gears Of War 2, then look at Farc Cry 2, Plus Dices's Frostbite engine . .
Come on, surely SOMEONE has something to say on this game . . . ? ? or are you all waiting for the next coming of Gears or MGS5 so you can brag how good you are at run-n-gunning . .(jk btw)
I for one am very interested to see this engine in the works..
Getting tired of the Unreal 3 Engine and how half the games these days on the 360 uses them and can't use it right.. texture pop ins, frame rate issues and so forth..
The destructibility sounds impressive along the lines of the Geo-Mod for Red Faction..
Hopefully the engine does well as begins to be licensed to other games so that they start using it instead of the U3E.. As that has little to no destructibility apart from some cosmetic changes like some rubble crumbling hehe..
It's funny hwo half the games these days have windows that cannot be broken, doors that cannot be smashed and so forth.. If Black on the Xbox could have windows smashing shooting them how come half the games on the 360 can't?..
Konami haven't really been known for creating realistic games but hell I want this.
