SCRAWL: "The latest issue of Famitsu magazine in Japan has revealed the 2005-announced Xbox 360 exclusive RPG from Softmax, Magna Carta II. The new scans look good from what we can see and it appears we're going to have a good run this year in the RPG category."

I always meant to buy the first one, but I was put off by the odd character designs. Even Adam Sessler couldn't distinguish man from women. The males looked more feminine than some of the females. I'm not homophobic I just found it weird.

let me guess, another TIMED exclusive?

Baka-akaB5497d ago

Just be happy you didnt buy it , cause it had excellent designs , and a ok story , but was crap in the gameplay departement .

Trying so hard to do everything and combine together every little unique things of many jrpg ogether , wich resulted in a pretty bleak pot pourri .

I bought the first game,I couldn't stand to play it more than an hour . It's a shame really

kewlkat0075497d ago

Never really played the games though..

beardpapa5497d ago

Agreed. Played the first one and like some comments here, the art style was really nice, but some characters were even more so androgynous than the latest FF toons to the point of disturbing. Heck my initial impression of the game, I thought the main character was female. I also couldn't get into the battle mechanics. It just didn't do it for me. If they change these little quirks then I'll go ahead and get this one, otherwise it's a steer clear for me.

Dynasty Warriors is a flop of a series and that manages to sell a million copies in Japan every time. Flop or not, it's sales that matter.

I know many of y'all care not for it (probably 'cause of the "effeminate" dudes). But I always loved the character designs of Hyung-Tae Kim. Anyways, I never played the first one. But I might give this game my attention when more info/gameplay is released.

By the way. Hyung-Tae Kim is the same cat who did the character design for NCsoft's Blade & Soul.

I never played this game, but I did see the art for it when it came out. I found out who the artist was, Googled his name and damn, he is GOOD.

Seriously if anyone hasn't seen all Hyung-Tae Kim's work, you need to see it. Amazing stuff. Lots of sexy too.>8}

MagnaCarta 2 Review - WorthPlaying

WorthPlaying writes, "Despite the name, Magna Carta is not about the famous English legal document of 1215 but a completely unrelated franchise from Korean software developer Softmax. Magna Carta: Tears of Blood was a fairly obscure RPG release for the PlayStation 2 in late 2005. Unusually enough, it was actually a sequel to a Korean-only PC RPG known as Magna Carta: The Phantom of Avalanche, although the two are unconnected except for some recurring names. Their selling point was actually artwork by Korean artist Hyung-Tae Kim, and their connection had more to do with them sharing Kim's art than anything else. MagnaCarta 2, now all one word, continues this tradition. It's completely unconnected to the other games in the series but serves as a vehicle to show off more of Kim's designs, and despite being billed as a sequel, it's its own game."

I knew this is going to be crap. What's the highest rated 360 exclusive jrpg so far? LO the 79 meta game?

Godmars2905310d ago

You know, I'm honestly tired of hearing this game being called crap. The original title was average and so is this one. RPG fans will probably buy it, everyone else - including console fanboys - wont. Get over it.

AP5310d ago

The review says the game is good, not great, and nothing new or groundbreaking. 70/100 doesn't equal sucks.

man MS is destroying the games
