Xbox 360 TV, film service a success, says Microsoft

Microsoft Corp. on Tues. said in a statement that the Xbox Live movie and TV downloads service on Xbox 360 is a runaway success among consumers.
Launched in Nov. 2006, the service allows Xbox 360 owners to download standard and high-definition video content direct to their console.

Microsoft says that in four months Xbox Live is the number one online distributor of TV and film content in the living room. In addition, the service has experienced double-digit, month-over-month growth, with downloads up 400 percent since the service launched.

Content distributors include CBS Broadcasting, MTV Networks, New Line Cinema, Paramount Pictures, and Warner Bros.

In Mar., MTV Networks' Comedy Central released the first high-definition episode of South Park exclusively on Xbox Live at no cost.

Microsoft has shipped 10.4 million Xbox 360 units worldwide to date. It expects to ship 12 million by fiscal June.

Take two, ubi and yes even PlayStation are pushing us to own nothing and be happy with our live service ad injected games on a sub so they can raise prices at will and take access away when they see fit.

If it keeps up I'll be a full time retro gamer and this industry will be crashing hard

As rediculas as it sounds we need government reforms to defend consumer rights
